So long, fair well, Auf weidersehn good-bye!

Written in Blog Related Stuff

As you have probably guessed from the title of this post, I'm leaving HSB.

For almost a year, I've struggled to keep my blog updated, I've just lost interest in it, and what is the point of having something if I'm not interested in it or it's upkeep?

Those I'm closest to here on HSB  I have other means of keeping in touch with, and shall try my very best to do.

So, I bid you all a very fond fair well.

Rest Assured I have not fallen off the face of the earth my friends!

Written in Chores, Me and My Family

No, I have not fallen off the face of the earth, just the face of the blogshpere!

UPDATE TIME!

It's been two months since Christmas and I have just now had my Christmas tree removed from my blog, (Thank you Becca !)

We are still in the process of looking( sort of) for some place closer to our family to move to. Not much luck. There are people who I will really miss and others whom I won't (maybe that's the wrong attitude but it's true and admitting it's the first step.) and I won't have to leave any of my blog friends behind because the computer's coming with us! YAY!

Mom put her back out a couple weeks ago, but is doing much better, thanks to the chiropractor!

On to the more trivial.

I dyed my hair the sometime the middle part of January, and it didn't quite come out the way I'd hoped. I had a friend do it who hasn't dyed hair in years, and thus as a result most of the dye ended up on the top of my head instead of evenly spread (and the color wasn't exactly what I'd wanted). Fortunately, I don't think it took well because it's almost back to it's normal color, and the next time I have the money I'm going to get something just a tad darker and try it again!

My aunt sent me video with the most stupid song I've ever heard with a slide show of her cats (also known around here as her kids) Cheyanne and Jasmine!  Some of the pics are kinda cute like the one of Jazzy curled up in the bathroom sink, some of them are just pictures, but cute none the less.

Umm......

Oh did I mention I'm only posting because Momma suggested I should? Otherwise nobody may of heard from me for a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very long time!

Hope all is going well for everyone!

Blessings,

~Liz~

Thank yous!

Written in Blog Related Stuff

Virtual thank you's for the presents left under my tree.

Momma- the pretty red sports car. It's as close to actually owning one as she'll let me get. She says it's the safest car I'll ever own.

Becca- POTC 3. Thank you very much. I'm hoping to buy it in real life sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Danielle- Though she did not leave her name she made the mistake of telling me she left me a present, thanks for the Chia  Pet.  Mom says that's the sorta thing you'd leave.

Deanna- the Frappichino, must make sure I have that  have my daily caffiene intake.

I can't really send myself a thank you note although, in today's world, I probably could but I'm not going to. Yes I left myself presents. I do crazy things like that from time to time.

Thank you all for the presents, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Blessings!

The new favorite quote around here is this.

"Mouse trap. I wanted to play  Moustrap.
You role your dice you move your mice. Nobody gets hurt."

For some strange reason we have been quoting this over and over for the past couple of days.

Who knows???

Do not put phone in the microwave oven as it may cause the battery to explode and holiday kickoffs.

Written in Chores, Me and My Family

For my sweet sixteen this week, I recieved a cell phone from my father.

Now this was perfect, there can no longer be any miscommunications between my mother and myself when I'm not at home any more.

Well while reading through the user's manual, rule number 2: Never place phone in microwave oven as it may cause the battery to explode.

Strange huh???

Now, holiday kickoffs.

When and how do you all begin the holidays???

The official holiday season around here begins with my birthday on Nov. 14.  closely followed by Thanksgiving, then Christmas, and New Year's and then finally my mother's birthday.

When and how do you start the holidays????

Blessings,

~Liz~

Who puts their cell phone in the microwave any way???????

And the answer is...drum roll please!....

Written in Prayer Request

First off, thank you so much to all of those who prayed with us and for us during this time!

And second of all, the reason we are not moving is we (mom was very not pleased with the landlord but that wasn't the deciding factor) found out some very scary, disgusting, horrifying and all around creepy things about the man my grandfather's age who live 0.51 miles from the house. And mom decided that it would not be wise on her part to knowingly mover herself and her children into a situation like that.

Thanks so much once again for your prayers!

Blessings,

~Liz~

If you would all please pray with us!

Written in Prayer Request

If you would all please pray with us. My mom went and looked at a house while we were away this weekend visiting family that's 2.2 miles from my aunt and a half hour away from my grandfather (which is far closer than the two hours away we are now).

We've been praying for a long time that God would show us where He wants us and we think this house might be it.

It's within our price range, it's close to family, it has three bedrooms, etc....

If you would all pray with us as we go through the process of trying to figure out if this is really where God wants us that would be wonderful!

Thanks so much in advanced. And I will keep you posted as I know more!

Blessings,
~Liz~

Now, hopefully the title intrigued you.

My little bro. is learning to read this year. The other day he was reading to mom from one of his books and he couldn't figure out what the word was (yell) , so I told him he said. No big deal right???

Well a few minutes later he came across the word again, paused a moment and the said "Holler!" and kept going.

Well needless to say he got the what the word ment if nothing else!

Do your kids/siblings ever come up with stuff like that???

I think..We homeschool!

Written in Chores, Me and My Family

I think we homeschool.

Yesterday afternoon we were watching a DVD when mom noticed that MattMann had it set so that the actors were talking in Spanish. Well mom can't speak Spanish so she had him change it to French (which she understands a little).

Well all of a sudden the woman doing the singing in the back ground comes on singing in English,  the people are speaking in French and the subtitles we have just realized are set to be in some Asian language (take your pick of Korean, Chinese, or Thai, they all look the same to me!)

Well mom and I had a good little laugh over that one and I though it would make good blog fodder.

So there you go. That's what's been going on in my neck of the woods. What's going on around yours?

Blessings!

SuperGirl -Chicken Catcher

Written in Chores, Me and My Family

Yep. That's what I've been dubbed.

Here's the story.

At some point Sun. morning. Matt went out to feed his chicken's. Getting as far as the porch heard then hen making this really strange noise, then came running upstairs to Mom asking for help.

Mom went out to try to get the hen into a separate cage so she could try and figure out what was wrong. She got as far as opening the pen door.

The chicken flew out.

Well so she's chasing this chicken somehow the rooster manages to fly out of the cage. Yep.

So she's out there chasing these chickens, meanwhile I'm clueless as I'm in my room. I come out to get breakfast to a flush-faced mom saying she'll try to catch them after she's had something to eat.

So I go in my p.j.'s ( I NEVER under any circumstances leave the house in my p.j.'s, don't know what was different this time but I did) can't find the hen anywhere but I can find the rooster. So I chase him. Around, and around, and around, and around, and around, and around, and around. We played ring-a-round-the-rosy's for several minutes. Around the bush at the house next door.

I came in and had something to eat and got dressed and went back out. Found the hen. Thought she was dead though cause she wasn't responding to all the noise I was making right over her head. So mom and I go out to the garage and we're clearing off the palatte and moving the siding under it.

Mom stands at the end where the hen is and I'm scooting her out from under when all of a sudden she just flies out! Grrr.........loose again.....Grrr.......

So here I am chasing this chicken around our yard.

Finally she backs herself into this corner (she's actually pretty stupid, every time she's gotten loose we've got her because, she's backed into a corner) and mom stands in front of her with the cat carrier. I go to the other side of the corner and kick it which spooks her and she flies backward right into the carrier.

That leaves the STUPID, idiotic, crazy, half-witted, foolish rooster (can you tell we have don't get along????)

Well anyway, I go next next door and manage to get him out of the bush with the help of my grandmother. I get him out in the back yard and he decided to go into the blackberry bush. Finally got him out of there and then he flew into the honeysuckle tree's!!!!! So my mom, grandmother, and I are chasing him, trying to catch him with a clothes basket. At one point he flew into the trailer park that's right next door and I had to chase him back to our yard.

Finally, he flies under a bush that we have ( That bush and I  DO NOT get along by the way.) and I get him cornered and am able to drop the basket on top of him.

Now we have a problem. How do I get the rooster to the cage without letting him out from under the basket.

So, in the end, I end up bent over scooting the basket across the lawn, next to his cage.

Finally got him into the cage. Both chickens accounted for and in their cage where they belong.

And I now have a new nickname.

~SuperGirl - Chicken Catcher! ~

What do ya think about that!

Blessings,

~Liz~

The path to Nowhere

Written in Quote of the day

This is just too cool not to share. If you look far enough back on my blog you'll see I shared it once before but I recently came across it again and thought I'd share it again!

The Path That Leads to Nowhere

There's a path that leads to Nowhere
In a meadow that I know,
Where an inland river rises
And the stream is still and slow
There it wanders under willows
And beneath the silver green
Of the birches' silent shadows
Where the early violets lean....

All the ways that lead to Somewhere
Echo with hurrying feet
Of the Struggling and the Striving,
But the way I find so sweet
Bids me dream and bids me linger,
Joy and Beauty are it's goal;

On the path that leads to Nowhere
I have sometimes found my soul

~Corinne Roosevelt Robinson~

Isn't that like, awesome??????

Scratch that

Written in Books for sale

Forget what I said in my last post about having that list of books up by the end of the week. It will probably be closer to the middle of next week, by the time I get them organized and priced.

And it's not just all used curriculum. Some of it's old books, software, and children's books. There is some curriculum though I promise.

My "Thing"

Written in Books for sale

My mother is ecstatic. We have finally found "my thing" if you will.

I'm going to have a book store.

We're in the process of planning a family business so that when my grandmother retires (and most likely comes to live with us) we will be able to support every one and she can continue working.

We were just going to have a gift shop with stuff that we have made with an area for sewing lessons and music lessons (courtesy of yours truly, the music lessons that is ). And then my mother came up with the BRILLIANT idea of having a book store too! Knowing how much I love working with the used curriculum project this summer that our state has. And personally, I thought that was an awesome idea. Since the website for the business is up yet (wait, it isn't even designed yet!) I have to post what I have for stuff to sell on my blog.

If you see anything you want or are interested in please let me know. I haven't made the list of everything yet so probably sometime in the mid-to-late week you'll know what I have.

Wish us luck as we embark on this adventure!

Blessings,

~Liz~

I've had it! I've had it with wobbly-legged, rum-soaked PIRATES! ~Elizabeth Swann~ Dead Man's Chest

Written in Chores, Me and My Family

Okay, so rum-soaked pirates aren't exactly my problem.  But feeling better, and not being able to do anything because I still feel tired is.

I believe I forgot to mention this in my earlier post.

The fair is in town.

The fair is in town, I have mono, which means I can't ride any of the rides.

Oh well. That leaves me more money for dough boys and french fries!!! YUM!

Thank you for listening to me whine.

MONO!!!

Written in Chores, Me and My Family

Well, we heard back from the Dr. today, and it's offical, I have mono.

I'm very happy to finally know why I've been so sick. I have also in this past week struggled with anxiety which is learned and genetic. It's been a rough week. I broke down this morning and had an axiety attack because I was so worried that the Dr. would call and say that the tests came back fine and that there was "nothing" wrong with me. I've also learned that I really need to trust God when things like this happen. I just need to step back and say, "Okay, You know what You're doing!"

Now that is not an easy thing to do for me. It's very hard for me to do as a matter of fact, but I'm trying.

Any way, for those of you who prayed with me, I have Mono, and will have to spend the next 4to 6 weeks doing nothing but resting and getting better. And praying that no complications come around.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. They mean a lot to me.

Blessings,
~Liz~

P.S. Go stop by my mom's blog (maggieraye) and ask her about her reaction to the phone call from the Dr. It's actually pretty funny.

Uh-oh!

Written in Prayer Request

If you could all please pray with us! We think, we're not sure yet, but we think I might have mono. I haven't been feeling great this past week. Lethargic, cranky, etc... mom's not sure but she thinks it might be mono. we'll find out for sure some time on Monday hopefully because that's when I'm going to try to get into the Dr.'s office.

Now quite frankly I would care if I had mono or not. Get it now and get it over with and be done with it. but I am sick and tired of being sick and tired and not knowing why. So I guess what I'm asking for is that you'll pray with me that God will give the Dr. wisdom in figuring out what's wrong w/me!

Thanks!
