Yep. That's what I've been dubbed. Here's the story. At some point Sun. morning. Matt went out to feed his chicken's. Getting as far as the porch heard then hen making this really strange noise, then came running upstairs to Mom asking for help. Mom went out to try to get the hen into a separate cage so she could try and figure out what was wrong. She got as far as opening the pen door. The chicken flew out. Well so she's chasing this chicken somehow the rooster manages to fly out of the cage. Yep. So she's out there chasing these chickens, meanwhile I'm clueless as I'm in my room. I come out to get breakfast to a flush-faced mom saying she'll try to catch them after she's had something to eat. So I go in my p.j.'s ( I NEVER under any circumstances leave the house in my p.j.'s, don't know what was different this time but I did) can't find the hen anywhere but I can find the rooster. So I chase him. Around, and around, and around, and around, and around, and around, and around. We played ring-a-round-the-rosy's for several minutes. Around the bush at the house next door. I came in and had something to eat and got dressed and went back out. Found the hen. Thought she was dead though cause she wasn't responding to all the noise I was making right over her head. So mom and I go out to the garage and we're clearing off the palatte and moving the siding under it. Mom stands at the end where the hen is and I'm scooting her out from under when all of a sudden she just flies out! Grrr.........loose again.....Grrr....... So here I am chasing this chicken around our yard. Finally she backs herself into this corner (she's actually pretty stupid, every time she's gotten loose we've got her because, she's backed into a corner) and mom stands in front of her with the cat carrier. I go to the other side of the corner and kick it which spooks her and she flies backward right into the carrier. That leaves the STUPID, idiotic, crazy, half-witted, foolish rooster (can you tell we have don't get along????) Well anyway, I go next next door and manage to get him out of the bush with the help of my grandmother. I get him out in the back yard and he decided to go into the blackberry bush. Finally got him out of there and then he flew into the honeysuckle tree's!!!!! So my mom, grandmother, and I are chasing him, trying to catch him with a clothes basket. At one point he flew into the trailer park that's right next door and I had to chase him back to our yard. Finally, he flies under a bush that we have ( That bush and I DO NOT get along by the way.) and I get him cornered and am able to drop the basket on top of him. Now we have a problem. How do I get the rooster to the cage without letting him out from under the basket. So, in the end, I end up bent over scooting the basket across the lawn, next to his cage. Finally got him into the cage. Both chickens accounted for and in their cage where they belong. And I now have a new nickname. ~SuperGirl - Chicken Catcher! ~ What do ya think about that!
