Jimmie has a fascinating, creative blog, and she did a photo hunt for shiny things--couldn't resist trying a shot when I saw my shiny kitchen faucet next to the shiny jade leaves, next to the shiny silestone.....
I like all the pictures from your last posts. So very cute.
I'm surprised you haven't heard of a swamp cooler if you grew up in the desert. I grew up in the midwest with tons of humidity, and never heard of them, but in the desert west out here they are big. It's the same idea of an air conditioner, except it uses cold water, and puts cold moisture in the air to cool it off. You have to leave windows open some, unlike with air conditioners, or it'll definately feel like a swamp in your house. So it in a sense it puts humidity in the air, to cool off the dry hot air. Hope that makes sense to you.
Again, I really liked your pictures of your little ones. :)

Ummmm.... I grew up in a desert in the Middle East. I don't think they had them there yet. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around a swamp in the desert...
I guess we did have wadis (river beds), but we never went there unless they were completely dry, which was most of the time. We did drive through a wet one, once, in a VW minibus, but that's a different story...
I love all your pictures. They really ad "life" to your blog! The kids really look so happy, and your "shiny" picture is very artsy. I like it. Looks like something I would use as a background for some witty saying or even a Bible verse. Very cool.
By the way, thanks for stopping by my blog. Loved the story of the lasagna. I've converted several friends this way. They start with a home cooked healthy meal and are overwhelmed with this feeling that they've just done something so special for their families, and they're hooked. Oh, and don't feel bad about the quilt. Although I usually finish my projects in a timely manner, I have one particular needlepoint project that I have been working on for 14 years. That is no lie. I started it just after I got married. It says: Love is Forever. Now that's irony, lol!
