What a fortnight!  Just after getting back from Seattle and visiting John's family for a week, We discovered that I was pregnant, I turned 40, John shocked me beautfiully by hosting a party for my birthday,  Christopher got gastroenteritis, John left for a 9-day trip to India, I got gastroenteritis, I began bleeding and was put on bedrest, our tenants got mice, I arranged to pay someone to meet the exterminators, the house disassembled itself while I did nothing but manage the children, a new "friend indeed" waltzed into my life, cleaning up and caring for our children, Mom came to visit and do everything for a few days,, Natalie got gastroenteritis, we lost our baby, our contractor sent his assistant to fix a door for our tenants, but came a day earlier than communicated and upset them by surprising them with his presence, I put away fall things and set out Christmas decorations, and just hours after I resolved issues with the tenants, the exterminators failed to show up..   John comes home tomorrow, Lord willing.  I am looking forward to seeing him.

Yes, we lost our baby--if it weren't for pregnancy tests, I wouldn't have known we were pregnant--I would have thought I was just late.  Now we have a teeniest little one in heaven.

Our children blessed me a lot this week.  My mom and my new friend blessed me, and God sustained me greatly.  I am grateful for His intervention on a number of occasions when I didn't know what to do, and I am very thankful for my health and ability to be off of bedrest.  It is a blessing and gift from God.

Lori---

Wow! That was quite a week! So sorry to hear about the loss of your precious little one. We too have one only a few weeks old in heaven. Praise God that He has provided for you in so many ways to cope with all of the struggles from the week. He is able...

And I thought my week was tough! I am sorry about the baby. I lost 2 really early, way before I was emotionally attached. I hope that you have a calm, relaxing, and stress-free weekend.

I am sorry. I lost my first baby at 2 months. What a wild week to go through all this. That was a neat story you shared about the cross stitch picture.
Blessings,
Laurie

I am so very sorry for you loss. It does sound like you have gone through so much. It's such a blessing to hear how the Lord has sustained you and brought people into your life to be an encouragement. I pray you continue to keep your focus on the Lord. :)

Lori, I am sorry to hear of your loss. Even though you might not have been far along, it is still a sad thought that you lost a baby. I too lost a baby, at the 8 week mark. Hopefully you will all be on the upswing with your health, and your dh has a very good trip and returns home to you safely. Tammy, reelmom

Hi Lori! It is good to see you posting again...although I totally understand why you've been away from it.

I, too, lost a baby last Jan. in much the same way you described. I was only about 7 weeks, and if I hadn't taken the test, would never have known. It was still a hard blow though.

Happy birthday!!!

We, too, (like many others here) lost a wee one very early on. It is good that God is ever-present because sometimes, when it rains, it POURS! His promises for care, even in situations like this loss, are true and good - I can attest to that 100%!

And bear in mind how beautiful and sparkly EVERYthing looks after the rain! :)

Love you!!
