From my kitchen window......
I spend a goodly amount of time each day at my kitchen sink, and my window is above my sink. Before we moved into this house, my view from my kitchen window was out over the hundreds of acres of pastureland that were to the North and to the East of our home. It was a GORGEOUS view, and one that I miss very much! But that is one of the few things that I miss about our old house. I miss the view, I miss the birds and the wide open spaces, and I miss our neighbor, but I really don't miss anything else. Yesterday I was standing at my current kitchen window looking out and I was really missing the views from our old house. Then I noticed, that even though the view from my kitchen window isn't the same as it was, it is still very pretty, and I am thankful for the flowers that the Lord provided on my violets and rose plants that are in the kitchen to remind me of His provision! And His loveliness! Even in the bleakest of times, He is there for me, and He will provide just what I need to get through my current situation, whether it be a day of depression, or a financial blow, or an emotionally exhausting day, whatever, He is there with me, beside me, with me in His hand....EVERY step of the way. Those are the things that I think about as I look through my kitchen window...... What happens at YOUR kitchen window?

Hi Lori! Well, let's see... from my kitchen widow I can watch the children swing! Actually, that is all I can do because the back yard is so narrow that the swing set sits pretty much takes up the entire view! LOL While I miss leaving on property where we had the Nevada Range as our Kitchen view, I am thankful for where we are now! I love to be washing dishes or making a meal and look out that wall of windows to see my babies laughing and playing with one another. You know they hardly ever fight.. oh, they have their moments but for the most part they are the best of friends. We are so blessed to be able to walk out our Spiritual journey with our children at home. They get to see the real walk of God's people.. not perfect.. just forgiven! I love the view from your kitchen most because of your heart! As I look out my kitchen window today I will be thinking of you at yours!

:) I do not have a kitchen window above my sink but do have a bay window off to the left. I love to look out at Gods beauty. Right outside the middle window is a big lemon tree and a hummingbird feeder. There is a constant buzz of bees and regulars visits by several different hummingbirds. Grackles, sparrows, house finches and mockingbirds all stop by too. If I look beyond the lemon tree I can see roses, scented geranium, iris, pansies and a lawn of Bermuda grass that is slowly waking up after a long winters nap. All this beauty, all created by my Savior, gives me such joy. It calms me and slows me down. Looking out my window or sitting a while in the garden helps me to change my outlook. I can only imagine that was part of Gods plan when he gave us plants, trees, flowers and hummingbirds! Thank you for your thoughts today they were a wonderful reminder to count my blessings. :)

It really is a place for all my years of being at home now, that I am able to reflect, listen to nature, pray.....I LOVE my kitchen window. Here at our new home, I also will sit in our recessed patio (when it hasn't been raining and it isn't flooded :)) and swing on the porch swing and enjoy watching the children, listening to nature, and just being still and listening the God :)
