Good morning!   I've been up for over 2 1/2 hours and haven't gotten much done :(    Actually, that's not true, I did get dh off to work with his breakfast and lunch, and got some quality snuggling time with my 2 youngest dd's and our doggie and one of our cats.   I did that while watching Walton's ...... it was good to spend that time with the girls (and Miss Rachel fell asleep in my arms....I LOVE that feeling :)  I love having a baby (even one that's 5 1/2 :)) fall asleep in my arms :)

SO, now I need to get moving!   We were going to be having company today.....our friends that are moving to Reno.....but the mom called at 7:30 and told me that she really needs me tomorrow while they clean up the house, and that she doesn't see a way clear to get them here today.    That was fine....  except that another mom and her kids were planning on coming over to say goodbye.....hopefully they will be able to do that tomorrow :)   Oh how my heart is aching over this friend moving....she was my first friend here in Visalia.  I'm SO going to miss her!  Thankfully we have family in Reno, so we have another reason to go and visit now

Oh!  I'm not sure if I've told you all or not.....we are getting new furniture tonight.   Well, it's new to us.....some friends bought another friends' furniture and are giving us their current furniture.   I can't wait to get it!  I'm going to list one of our chairs on freecycle today, and the couch will be moved to our bedroom (oh, how I hope that it really does fit!).   I am really excited.  We are getting a new couch as well as 2 recliners.   I will take pictures before and after today and put them on my blog for you all to see.   SO today I need to get my room ready to move the couch in, and I need to work on decluttering the drawers that I had planned on doing yesterday.

I also have:
laundry
school
order library books
find a bible study lesson for R to start on.....she is VERY interested in doing Beth Moore, so I may check into that for her.
look at curriculum catalogs to start finding next year's curriculum
work on organizing recipes for 10 minutes

That's about it for today, but it is a full day!  Oh, we are also having company for dinner tonight :)   Really simple dinner, but it will be fun.  They are helping us move furniture tonight and wanted to "hang out" so they'll come for dinner, the dad's will go pick up furniture, and I would imagine we will be playing a game of Mexican Train dominoes.....one of our favorite things to do ;)

Here's what is happening in my kitchen today:

help R make some Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies

Breakfast:
ww bagels and creamcheese/peanut butter/butter (their choice)
scrambled eggs
fruit

Lunch:  homemade lunchables......sliced turkey/swiss cheese/crackers
fruit

Dinner:
hamburgers/cheeseburgers with all the fixings
chips (our friends are bringing, so I don't know exactly what types)
potato salad
orange slices
dessert will be Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies

Good morning everyone,

We had a busy weekend, and I was fighting a migraine all weekend. Taught my son's Sunday school class on Sunday, and then went to our small group family bible study......when I got there I told one of my girlfriends that I'd been fighting a migraine since the afternoon before. She gave me some Excedrin Migraine, and I was painfree within 30 minutes. By the end of the day on Sunday I felt better than I had felt since THURSDAY! So I realized I had actually been fighting this migraine since Thursday! Then yesterday, the source of the migraine was revealed to me.....it was hormonal.

Because I wasn't feeling well from Thursday through Sunday, I haven't gotten any of my bible study homework done, and I am leading the group discussion at our table tonight, so I need to get my whole week's worth of homework lessons done today.

Here's what's on tap for us for today:

*family devotions
*school
*fold the laundry that dh washed and dried yesterday.....a whole couch full
*get ready for bible study tonight
*2 more loads of laundry w/d/f/put away
*blog
*work on family home management notebook
*write 1 recipe into dd's recipe notebook (I'm hand writing each of her favorite recipes for her to give to her when she gets married and establishes a home of her own)
*healthy meals for family

Today in my kitchen, I am hoping to get some sourdough starter started......there is a lady in Serbia who's blog I read on Friday, and she had made some beautiful rye bread using sourdough, so I emailed her and asked her if she would share her sourdough starter recipe with me. If I get it today, then I'll make it.

Breakfast:
oatmeal
fruit

Lunch:
soup and leftovers

Dinner:
spaghetti
bread
salad

Dessert:
cookies that were leftover from our homeschool Mom's group yesterday

Last night's Valentine's/R's Birthday dinner was wonderful! When D got home the table was set with a pretty pink tablecloth, candles, gold heart doilies (and Valentine M&Ms scattered down the center of the table). I also had one of my african violets as the center piece. I had placed glasses of water with lemon on the table for everyone, as well as our champagne flutes and china plates. Dh helped me to serve the dinner, and we ate, talked, giggled, and the kids thought it was so cool that they got champagne glasses with sparkling cider (I also dropped a frozen blackberry into each glass.....it was SO pretty, and provided lots of entertainment as one of the kiddo's berry was "dancing" in the sparkling cider all throughout our dinner). After dinner, dh helped me clean up, and we went to the living room to open birthday presents. This is the first year that we have let the kids get things for each other for Christmas and birthdays, and they all had so much fun wrapping their presents for "Sissy" and then watching her face as she unwrapped each one. Then R opened ours, and it was a lot of fun watching her ooooh and aahhh over all the bath things that we got her smile.gif After presents we had cake, then the kiddos went off to bed and D and I watched a little bit of Olympics that we had recorded yesterday.

Here's my list for today:
*school
*R is babysitting for a couple of hours for a family at church
*reset the table (with our daily linens, take the pretty Valentine's "cloth" off....it's plastic, so it will be thrown out)
*laundry
*get ready for AWANA/choir tonight
*keep house tidy
*bake some bread

Here's what's happening in our kitchen today:

I still need to bake bread! smile.gif

Breakfast:
pancakes with pb and real maple syrup
apples

Lunch:
leftovers and soup

Dinner:
crockpot lasagna
homemade bread
salad

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

Happy Birthday, to my precious girl!!!!

Well, today is a "recoup" day! We had a very FULL weekend, which included having 10 preteen and teenage girls here on Sunday evening and overnight (yes, I am NUTS and should be committed!!!!!!!!!!!!.......ACTUALLY I was pretty naive.....I didn't realize how loud that many girls can get.....esp. at 12:30 in the morning! smile.gif.....there is a reason my mom wouldn't let me have sleepovers past the age of 10 smile.gif). Actually, the party was wonderful, and I was SO happy to be able to bless my girl in this way! She is such a blessing to our family, that it was awesome to be able to treat her like this! I secretly planned a "spa night" for her girlfriends, complete with herbal foot soaks, exfoliating, and foot massages.....and the time ended with my painting 100 toes! smile.gif (Actually, I did 130 toes, because on Monday, my two little girls and their friend asked me to do a spa time on their feet smile.gif). I was struck with just how special this was when one of the girls asked me on Sunday night "Mrs. S, are you sure you want to do this?" I hadn't really thought about it before, but handling 10 girls feet could be conceived as being gross, but THAT thought never actually crossed my mind. I was so happy to bless them! AND the Lord was faithful.... I suffer from terrible carpal tunnel syndrome (just signing my name hurts my wrist), and I had been praying for relief of the symptoms for that night so that I wouldn't have to stop in the middle to rest my wrist......I didn't! My wrist didn't bother me AT ALL that night! Thank you God!

Ok, onto today smile.gif Today will be a restful day for all of us......Here's what today's agenda will include.....

*breakfast
*lunch
*dinner smile.gif
*kids tidying up their bedrooms
*playing games
*watching olympic stuff that we recorded over the weekend

For me I will add:
*a load of two of laundry (HAVE to wash towels, I used ALL of our towels for their girls feet on Sunday night smile.gif)
*general quick (45 minutes or less) tidy of house
*wet swiffer the kitchen floor
*bake bread
* prepare meals for my sweet little family

That's about it today! Tomorrow we will get back to our normal school/work routines!

Here's what's happening in the our kitchen today......

I need to bake another birthday cake (the girls wiped out the cake that i made for the party on Sunday)
bake bread

Breakfast:
stuffed french toast (I stuff it with a little cream cheese, a little peanut butter and a piece of chocolate) drizzled with pureed berries and sprinkled with powdered sugar

Lunch:
probably soup and sandwiches

Dinner:
steak
rice pilaf
salad
steamed broccoli
roasted beet and carrot salad

Dessert:
cake and chocolate......

Good morning dear ones! Last night I ran some errands, then I came home and snuggled on the couch with my dh and watched Survivor. I got to bed at 9:15, and turned the light out at 9:38.....it was so nice to be in bed and asleep at a decent hour again! Unfortunately, I still had a difficult time getting out of bed again this morning, but once I did get up at 5:40, I was feeling VERY rested......THANK YOU GOD!!! smile.gif

I had the wildest dream last night....dh, the kids and I were living in a big travel trailer, and some CIA agents were trying to get information from dh, so we were stuck in the trailer for 3-4 weeks without getting out at all. Some friends finally came and created a diversion and we were able to escape smile.gif It was fun, but weird smile.gif I have some of the wildest dreams sometimes!

Ok, here's what's on tap for today:

*coffee (done)
*dh off to work with breakfast and lunch (done)
*devotions
*school
*some school record keeping
*dinner in the crockpot
*some baking
*take ds to his AWANA Bible Quiz competition tonight, and be a judge while I'm there
*get some things ready for R's birthday party on Sunday (her 13th birthday is on Valentine's Day, we are hosting a sleep over for her on Sunday evening)
*get some library books ordered for school for the next few weeks
*get some crocheting and laundry done

I am SO excited to be able to spend some time in my kitchen today......it is by far my favorite room of the house smile.gif It is the one room that I am able to express my love for my family......I just love it in there smile.gif

Some of the things that I need to do today are:
bake bread (I want to make some rye bread today)
make some savory muffins (I want to make two batches....one of ww/rye muffins, one of corn muffins)
make some soy/oat milk

Our meal plan for today is:

Breakfast:
pancakes
fruit

Lunch:
leftovers, soup, sandwiches

Dinner:
beef stew
savory muffins
salad

Yesterday around 4 pm, I all of a sudden was struck with a tummy thing. I was extremely nauseous, was in the (ahem) bathroom a lot, and just felt horrible! It lasted until around 8 pm. There has been a stomach bug going around our friends, so I assumed this was it, but since it only lasted 4 hours, I"m thinking that my tummy didn't like something I ate yesterday.

Today I am babysitting (I think....the mom didn't call me to confirm last night, and I was NOT feeling up to calling her, and not really knowing what state I was going to be in) 3 children for the afternoon/evening. I

In our home today we will be:
*having school time
*bible study homework
*baking bread and maybe some muffins for snacks
*preparing healthy meals
*working on laundry
*crocheting/cross stitching
*babysitting
*getting ready for AWANA tonight

Well yesterday I never got my bread baked....I got some kind of a little tummy problem and it had me down in the afternoon/evening. So today I need to bake bread....we are using the last loaf today.

Breakfast:
oatmeal and toast

Lunch:
leftover smorgasbord smile.gif

Dinner:
chile rellano casserole
brown rice, spanish style
salad
mixed vegetables
