About Me

I'm a christian and a wife and a mother of 2 boys whom we've always homeschooled. We live on 6 acres and Dad works from home. Homeschooling provides us our dream lifestyle. Our philosophy is relaxed, eclectic homeschooling, better known as "If it works do it, if it doesn't work stop doing it." I love to hear about what works for others and I love to share what works for us. Welcome to our adventures!

If I had a blog...
Aug. 11, 2008
4 weeks and counting!

You know when you get to that point during the summer holidays that you look at the calendar and you note "4 more weeks until we start school", well that has happened to me, the countdown has begun....sigh.

Don't get me wrong I'm excited about what this year has in store but all the same I do love summer!  And I realized this year what it is that I love.  I love the simplicity.  And I've discovered that there is "specialness" in simplicity.

Take camping for example - pretty simple concept - yet we take away very special memories from that one simple activity.

I realized that, that is what happened with Tea time last year.  I couldn't explain why it was so "special" but now I know, it's special because it's simple.

So that's my new mantra for this year "Simple but Special".

And not just with homeschooling I'm going to apply that in all the areas of our lives.

Stay tuned....

Oh how true it is! The simple things generally are far more special for the kids, too. Thanks for the reminder...the hard part is remembering this day-to-day.

Many of the most special times that we've spent together as a family have been 'simple' ones.....took me a while to realize that though LOL. :-)
