So we've reviewed! This week I regrouped, even fighting a cold no less! And next week we'll restart...you didn't expect me to be able to restart the week of Halloween, although who knows next week may be no better with us all on a sugar high! Actually this week has gone better. I've been able to sit with the kids and be more available and more participatory with them. It wasn't as bad as I thought (it usually isn't), just some tweaking is required. Anyways onto the fun stuff! (Actually I think that is what has been missing for me and the kids, so I'll be tweaking that too). Today we carved our pumpkins for Halloween. We love doing this and it's so much fun! I'm the one who ends up the ickiest as both of my kids have a low tolerance for pumpkin guts. Here are a couple of pics:
We printed off a couple of templates off the internet, can you see Noah's puppy face on the table. Josh of course picked Jack O'Mean (you'll see what I mean).
and in the dark....
And the best part?
Mmmmm.....although I think I ate too many!! So we will be taking our pumpkins, costumes and candy bags into the city tomorrow as we always celebrate Halloween with our friends there (it's a tradition). This is Josh's last year (last year was supposed to be his last but his friend is 2 years younger than him so we'll let him have a last hurrah). Noah will be going with "his girl" Sarah - she says his cuteness factor gets them more candy, yes part of the deal is that she teaches him how to share the stash after, which is a really good thing with Noah's sweet tooth. I'm hoping to get some serious knitting and spinning in (I haven't touched my wheel in weeks and it's just not right). So until Monday, have a safe and happy Halloween everyone!
