It's been a while - here is an update: A group of us went to the new Ice Age movie - there were enough of us that we took up a pretty good section. The movie was enjoyed by all and then we went to a park so the kids could play. I was struck by how the teens were content to play tag with each other and with the littles - to think they could be wanting to hang out at a mall (tongue in cheek). The boys attended a water filled fun birthday party the next day. The following week was GIRL time! I swapped Josh for a friends girl and we went craft shopping, clothes and shoe shopping, did crafts watched girl movies and the fun went on and on. All of which Noah thouroughly enjoyed - he had 4 different pair of shoes picked out at one time and a pair of pants and a shirt. I seriously had to make him make choices - he is a shopper that's for sure - and it's not like he needs ANY shoes or clothes - he has enough to last a lifetime! Then the happiest day of my life (well ok not the happiest but it is up there) - my dumpster arrived! We got this baby: 40-Yard Open-Top Container7 ft High, 8 ft Wide, 23 ft Long The largest of all Waste Management Containers. Ideal for larger interior home renovations and household cleanup. So how much can this dumpster hold? AND FILLED IT TO THE BRIM!! We did the quonset (can you say boxes that have been in there from 2 moves ago?), two barns and barbed wire and general farm garbage. We also did piles and piles and piles of wood that were laying around. Friends who helped made all the work fun! I was SO excited when they took it all away! I feel like it's a major project off of our list - #2 this summer - we are on a roll!! As a reward I went up to my Mom and Dad's for a visit. My Mom, sister and I got a movie night "My Sisters Keeper" - very good movie and was introduced to Bubble Tea - yummo! The next day we went to the Science Center - mostly for the Imax film Fly Me to the Moon but was really impressed with the Da Vinci exhibit they have there right now. The dome show was also impressive and gave both kids a great overview of the history of the whole space exploration thing. It was that day in fact that the shuttle finally got to go up with Canadian astronaut Payette! I love it when it all fits together like that. I attended my Mom's knit night and demonstrated some spinning - it was a fun night and my preggo niece came out - it was so nice to see her and her baby bump! I really need to get knitting - everytime she goes see the doctor her due date gets moved up! We came home and Josh and Paul were off to see the new Harry Potter film - they weren't as impressed with it as with the other movies but at least it's another item off our list. Then we got ready for a weekend of camping - after our long camping trip last time the weekend felt very short - but the beautiful weather and great friends still made for a wonder filled time! Well that's the catch up from me! And the summer continues.... |
