You've heard those fish tales about "it shore was a big un!" AND... "I bet it was ZIS BIGGGG" and of course "but it got away". Well, we hit the interstate yesterday--fastest mode of travel as we're very close to it--and as we were coming past an entrance ramp, an 18-wheeler was coming up along side us to get on. The kids start yelling, "Look at that TREE!". "Mom, look at that HUGE tree!". Sure enough, on the back of the flat bed was the largest "Christmas Tree" I'd ever seen. (For my church buddies..."Biggest tthhhaaannnggggg I ever saw"). I thought I'd read somewhere recently that the Presidential Christmas Tree had been chosen from North Carolina and we were guessing that this must be it as 1). we're not too far from where it was chosen 2). it was on it's way north, and 3). it was the biggest tthhhaaannnggggg I ever saw.
Anyway, we start scrambling for the camera, as I've learned that life comes at cha pretty fast, better capture it while ya can. Where's the camera???? Who's had the camera??? I know it's in here!! Needless to say...it got away. AND, come to find out later, the camera WAS in the car but was under something under the front seat. Oh, well....
To fill in for the Tree That Got Away, I thought I'd share a few pictures. Sorry, the Presidential Christmas Tree is not among them.
