The weathermen were predicting heavy rains in parts of the Midwest. Torrential downpours with subsequent flooding were expected. People were being advised to evacuate the area. One man in particular, refused to vacate his property. When officials were making final rounds he replied, "The Lord is going to take care of me. I'm staying right here". The rains continued to pour; the waters rose. A rowboat with rescue personnel rowed by his home. Refusing again to leave, the rowboat continued on its way. "God is going to rescue me", he replied steadfastly. With the flood waters eventually overtaking his house, the man climbed upon the roof. A helicopter came and lowered a basket down. Again, refusing the offer of help, he motioned the helicopter away. "God's going to take care of me!", he yelled as the helicopter flew away. The waters soon overtook the man, and having nowhere else to climb to escape the floodwaters, he drowned. In Heaven he was welcomed warmly. When he approached the throne, he asked God, "I don't understand. I waited for you to rescue me, but you let me drown instead. Why?". God replied, "Well, I sent word that the flood was coming and you didn't evacuate. When the waters got higher, I sent a lifeboat for you. Then, right before you were overtaken with water, I sent a helicopter to lift you out. With all of your refusals for help, I had no choice but to bring you home to Heaven".

**How many times do we refuse God's help without realizing that His solution may not be our solution??**
