Good Morning, All! After a somewhat minor health hiatus, I'm slowly returning to "normal". Don't ask what normal is for me! LOL! At any rate, I wanted to share some things the Lord has shared with me during my time away from the computer.

Back in the early part of spring, I was regularly awakened in the middle of the night by....singing. Darkness, peacefulness, restfulness....and singing. Whaaa??? (I've since learned that Mocking Birds love to sing during the night, anyway...). These little birds would be just a singing away at 3 a.m. and sing for hours. I'd lay there and think, "You're not supposed to be singing now." "It's dark. You're supposed to be quiet!" Little birdies aren't the only ones awake at 3 a.m.

That still, small voice was standing in the shadows and He spoke through the darkness. God, who created those precious little creatures, loves to hear singing. And He especially loves to hear it when it's dark. When things are black, when things seem at their worst, when nothing is going right and it appears no hope is left, when we are quieted because we think we have no reason left to utter a sound, God wants to hear us sing. Hebrews 13:15 tells us "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name." The world is watching. They're listening. They can see when things are not going well in our lives. They're waiting to say, "Where's your God now?" When we offer those sacrifices of praise in the darkness, the world takes a step back and says, "You're not supposed to be singing now". "What's wrong with you? It's dark!" You make a big statement to both God and the world when you sing in the darkness. Romans 12:1- I beseech you therefore, brethen, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. It takes a lot to get a living sacrifice to lay down. (You may need to read that twice...). It takes a lot to sing in the blackness. I promise, though, that if you'll utter those sacrifices of praise in the bleakest, darkest valleys...if you'll present yourself unto God a living sacrifice, He will bless you and the world...will...take...notice.
