The other evening I was out back weeding the grass from amongst the mulch. A few flowers scattered here and there, but mainly mulch. That's the way it is when you're going it one step at a time...things come in small steps. Anyway, knowing that we have mulch paper down so that weeds don't grow in your mulch flower bed, I wasn't expecting it to be too difficult. Well, knowing that anything I do usually isn't done the easy way, we have Joint Grass. Not the staright, small, simple grasses...joint grass. It goes forever thanks to little loints connecting it. Some of the grasses I pulled out were huge! That still small voice came, as I was fussing at the joint grass, and reminded me that that's how the Christian life should be. We need to grow our roots in Christ and spread out, not staying superficial and short. We need to show Christ to the world without being content in our little patch of the mulch flower bed; rooted and grounded in the Word so that, when troubles and trials come our way, we can hold fast to the Promises of God and to the Rock of our salvation. Show the world that you're a joint grass, not a small simple balde of grass, easily withered in the storms of Life. Don't wait for someone to ask you if you're a Christian...show them by your roots; and by the fruit branching out because of your daily walk with Him.
Til Next Time,
