Aug. 18, 2006 - I am throwing Saxon Math out the window~
Well not literally but it is being replaced. I tried, I really did. I wanted to like it, it comes so highly recomended that I wanted to make it work. But it has not worked, she hates it, I hate it and she just isn't grasping it.
After reading about every Math curriculum on this side of the Sun I have decided on......drum roll.......Rod and Staff. I got it yesterday, it looks great. I am looking forward to something different.

Loved kindergarten Saxon. Hated their 1st grade curriculum. About a third of the way through dd decided math was hard, she was stupid at math, etc. We continued with money and telling time, but ended our year behind in math. I figure she is about six months behind. We're now doing Singapore Math, are on our second week, and it MIGHT be clicking with her. We'll see. But you have my complete sympathy with your struggles with Saxon.

This is what we received from our CLASS curriculum, and I did use it before a few years ago, I must say I do really enjoy this company as they are more thorough than many other math curriculums I have found. They make learning easy and fun! Both my kids (ages 10 and almost 9) love it and learn a lot from it.
