Growing in Grace...a quote from Charles Spurgeon

Here is a quote that I found especially challenging - I hope it encourages you, too.  I found it in a book called Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney, page 39.

"He who grows in grace remembers that he is but dust, and he therefore does not expect his fellow Christians to be anything more.  He overlooks ten thousand of their faults, because he knows his God overlooks twenty thousand in his own case.  He does not expect perfection in the creature, and therefore, he is not disappointed when he does not find it."  ---Charles Spurgeon

Dear Lord,

Please help me to grow in grace and to remember that I am but dust.  Help me to respond in kindness and grace and mercy to any situation I may face.

In Jesus' name,

Amen

Wow! What a great and and challenging quote!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I really appreciate the ministry of the Maxwells (Titus2). I have found it to be challenging and yet practical. My sister-in-law and I went to one of their conferences last fall and I picked up several of their books. I think I have most of them now – except for the one about sons. I love "Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit" and have read it 3 or 4 times. I think I need to read it again :-(

Keep writing on your blog and I will keep reading :-)
