Thankful Thursday! Colossians 3 style

In my quiet Bible study time this morning, I read in Colossians 3 - I was impressed by how many times we are instructed to be thankful. Verse 15: "and let the peace of Christ rule in your  hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body.  And be thankful.

Verse 16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spirtual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Verse 17: "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everthing in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Gracious Heavenly Father, I pray you would work in my heart and help me to be thankful today.  Help me to consciously choose to be thankful for all things - good and pleasant and also the hard, unpleasant, irritating situations and people in my life.  You are so good to me and I choose to be thankful today.

Grace and peace,

Audrey

I have really learned that it is through a heart of thanksgiving that I am able to trust God more. I often encourage myself and my friend by saying that God only allows that which can make us more like Him. And that we shouldn't waste trials by not being thankful that God is showing us an area He wants to grow us in. Thank you for the reminder to be thankful;)
