The Years Go By...

I found this quote in a book on church history that I am reading to my children.

"The years go by like running water.  Waste not the teachable days in idleness!" Alcuin, a brilliant Anglo-Saxon scholar. Circa 800 AD.

I thought the quote was insiteful and timeless.
