Lupton's Loving Learning

Working hard for a living ~ okay not really

My first day at the Embassy (Devon)

I have been working at the Embassy for three weeks now as part of their summer hire program. I spent 20 hours a week working in GSO for the first two weeks and then 40 hours working at the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) conference held here in Canberra. I worked in the control room for the American delegates. It was a sweet job and I really enjoyed my first summer hire experience.

Heading in to the YMCASC ( Yep, me again.)

I have also been an assistant volunteer sailing instructor this summer. I worked 20 hours per week (in the afternoons) following the Embassy gig. Now I am back to 40 hours per week on the water. This week we had 15 students in the class every day. It was a busy week but I really enjoyed it. It has been a great learning experience. I also took a motor boat course early this spring and that has come in handy during the summer courses. This next week is our last course for the summer.

Too bad we have to work ... wouldn't mine being back out in the bush.

Work finished now? Start saving and come over for a holiday :-)
