Schoolin' On the Road
Nov. 7, 2005
A New Week and .....
here
we sit in Seattle, Washington waiting for repairs to be done on our
truck. We put it in the shop on Friday for some minor repairs and
when we called to find out the status this morning they are saying that
we need to have about $5,000 worth of repairs done to the truck.
OUCH!!! Not only is it the cost of the repairs, but it is also
the cost of the rental car, the hotel room, etc. When you make
your living with a truck things like this can put a huge dent in your
life.
Schooling is going okay. We are having a problem with our Bible
curriculum because one of the discs got broken and we need to get a new
set of discs or find a replacement for the disc that got broken.
We have made a good use of some of our time here in Seattle. On
Saturday we went to Pike Street Market and poked around for a bit and
bought some fresh fruit and cheese and stuff. It is amazing how
much fresher things are when you buy them someplace like that rather
than in the supermarket.
We stopped to talk to a bee keeper and our DS amazed the him with how
much he knew about bees and how able he was to hold a coherent and
informative conversation with the man. We subscribe to Discovery
Kids magazines and the information in those seems to be fairly
comprehensive but done on a level that children can comprehend.
We went to visit some family on Sunday that live in the Seattle area
and that was quite fun and our DS was able to play with my aunt's
grandson for a few hours. They had a wonderful time running
around, playing with cars and such.
It looks like we will be here for a few more days and maybe we will
have the time and the inclination to go see Mt. Ranier and some of the
other things that are inexpensive or free in the area.
