A Mother's Prayer
A mother's prayer
It is so sweet
A mother's prayer
So complete
A mother's prayer
It's one I yearn for
A mother's prayer
It is one to adore
A mother's prayer
There is none so deep
A mother's prayer
Makes one want to weep
A mother's prayer
It's a prayer that is so pure
A mother's prayer
Of one whose love you can be sure

With my husband's hours we have not been as consistent as we should with *daily* devotions. We knew that needed to change so if he is not home by 8:30 -9:00PM I am leading nightly devotions with the oldest 3 (with the assistance of the youngest two LOL). We are using Teaching Hearts, Training Minds by Starr Meade, based on the Shorter Westminster Catechism. The other night as we ended our studies I prayed aloud, but I prayed as I do when I am alone for each child individually, naming some of their areas of concern. I am not sure my dc have ever before heard me do this. The next morning.... this poem was waiting for me from my oldest daughter. |
