Just as an update, Pap does have colon cancer. However, it was only in one lymph node, and there was no sign of liver, kidney, or lung involvement. Surgeon is recommending chemo. We are waiting to get an appointment with the oncologist, and take it from there. The good news is the surgeon sees no reason why we can't reverse the colostomy, so we will arrange it in the future. He is allowed outside walking now, and it has helped his spirits. I ask for prayers for rest for him, as he is having trouble sleeping, and he's keeping Nana awake too!

Good Monday Morning to you all! It has been a busy time at my homestead. I manage to tackle the majority of Mt. Laundry, get it folded, and put away. It's amazing, you can walk through the bedrooms without falling over something!!
I got my paper done for my class and handed in, so that is one thing I can check off my list. Even though I have decided that I am not going to pursue my education career any further, I am still working hard to get A's in my class.
So here is my list to do for today: Work Unload/Reload Dishwasher Finish Laundry Run the vacuum
Have a wonderful Monday in your cottage!! |

I know people may wonder why I blog on HSB. I don't actually stay home or homeschool, but I work in a school district with a learning impaired child. I have found that talking to homeschooling moms has helped me to work with my students. Here is a picture of our home: and our backyard, as humble as it is:
I like homestead blogger very much because of all the like-minded Christian women that are here. I am hoping to glean more from you regarding faith and homemaking!! |

Good Morning!
Praise God, Pap is home. He is very happy to be home, even if he is staying at MIL's. He was so happy to see me last night, it brought tears to my eyes. He is a little grumpy, but that's to be expected, as he is not used to being down and sitting still. I pray that God gives him the patience to deal with this season in his life.
As for me, I am working hard to continue to use my time wisely. I think I need to get back to using some of Flylady's methods for keeping the house in order. It's getting out of hand again, and I really must tackle it!! I still am working towards having the house "company ready" by Thanksgiving, but it's a comfortable ready. You know, floors vacuumed and mopped, kitchen straightened, and bathrooms on a level that aren't in danger of the EPA coming and swooping down on us.
I also need to work on trying to get up before the kids, and dh to start the day. Any suggestions? I set my alarm across the room, and I still manage to hit the snooze button!!
I hope that God spreads his blessings on you this day!! |

Thankful Thursday. Wanted to add my own version of a thankful Thursday.
It's amazing how much you have, but you take it for granted because you see it everyday. I am trying to be more conscious of what I have, instead of dwelling on what I want!
Update: Pap came home today from the hospital. I will be going to see him when dh gets home from work!! Please continue to pray for healing and recovery!! |

My sweet dh unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher last night so I could soak in the tub! Ahhhh, what relief.
