Ramblings of a mom on a roll...
May. 23, 2007 - Muddy Memories
Posted in True Stories

I spent today strolling down memory lane.

Oh how my babies have grow.

So many pets have been loved and lost.

So much has changed.

The landscape has altered both by nature and man.

I hadn't realized we have been in the digital age so long!

It was a very fun stroll with lots of giggles of the silly antics and goofy events.

Here are a few of the muddier ones.  Enjoy:

George is actually 'in' the van's engine helping turn the wrenches.

I was shocked to say the least, but as you can tell by his smile, helping Daddy was worth it!

When we first bought a bulldozer and started moving earth, we never thought it would turn into a European Spa!

When I saw these two silly girls (Caylee, my dd and Marcella, her best friend), I was really worried about what Marcella's mom was going to think.  Marcella's mother is from Sweden.  When she saw this, she said, "Wonderful!  You know women all over the world would pay a fortune for such a luxury!

And for my favorite because it brings back extreme belly laughs (for me).

I should tell you that this happened on Christmas.

My spouse bought Caylee a sprint car.

A sprint car that had to be pull started, meaning that you hook up a tow rope and pull the sprint car up to a certain speed then it starts.  It starts really fast and goes like a rocket.

Problem was that I was driving the truck that was pulling the sprint car which held my hubby...

I tried to accelerate to get out of his way...

I hit a mud puddle but didn't ease off the gas...

Let's just say when I saw what I had done to him, I still can't stop laughing...

Guess you had to be there.

All he said to me (as I was falling on the ground in hysterics) was that he is a much bigger person then I as I wouldn't have taken it so well if positions would have been reversed.

Lol, he's right!

Geesh Vicki,

I haven't stopped by for a few days, and you have been a posting machine (once again!) Well, I absolutely loved the muddy pictures. For a moment there, I thought that I was looking at my family. Are we related??? LOL. I will have to come back for a visit tomorrow to check out the rest of your entries. I have super slooooow dial-up, and it is already 8:12pm and I think that my husband might want to see me for just a little bit tonight.

Blessings,
Lori

You guys are having way too much fun down there (I live in the northwest so everything is down south!) Thanks for sharing! A sprint car sounds like fun. I've been to sprint car races on an oval track and when they rounded the corner in our direction, we held up a blanket to avoid the mud slinging!

Vicki, I appreciate your leaving the reverse tag! Here is yours...
1. You are very intelligent, coming from a long line of intelligent people. Your grandfather has many pattens.
2. You get paid to stay awake all night and watch the weather. (And blog)
3. You have had to pull your son out of school because they did not understand him.
4. You unschool and are successful at it.
5. You live near the forest fires in FL.
6. You don't care for your chili to be HOT
7. You have a busy family who like to do their own thing, but are always around to help out if needed.

You're really getting the hang of "hanging" pictures on your blog. Tell your daughter I am equally impressed by her free spirit! I've never rolled in the mud or colored my hair (even after the gray started creeping in) but I appreciate those who do!
And your hubby has a great sense of humor. I'm sure he would have a lot to talk about with my long suffering spouse! (I've never thrown mud at mine, but I did inadvertently cause an interesting sunburn design...I'll have to write about that!

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina

I do not like mud.

Maybe I will post a mud story about Miss Language when she was little.

She does not like mud, either.

Just wanted to let you know I followed your lead in publishing an entry about mud. I even "borrowed" your title. :)
