Jun. 15, 2008 - Spiritual Discussion with T.
Friday night, when we went to pick up DH at the airport, T started to ask questions. Here is the jest of our conversation:
T: So, Mama, do you ever think that it's possible that Satan will repent of his sins?
Me: (Ok...... deep breath. God, help!) You know, I suppose it is possible. But I don't think it's very likely.
T: Why not? If he was really sorry, would God forgive him?
Me: I think God would forgive him. God is very compassionate and loving. But the Bible also tells us of what will happen to Satan in the end. So I think that God pretty much knows that Satan is not going to change his mind.
T: But he could if he wanted to. Can I pray that he changes his mind?
Me: Of course you can.
T: Can you imagine if Satan changed his mind and then he stopped tempting us? Do you think we would still sin? Wait....I think we would because we still have a sin nature. But it wouldn't be as much, don't you think?
Me: Yes, probably not as much. You're right, this world would be a much nicer place.
T. Well, I'm going to pray for him.
It was quiet for a few minutes.
T: Mama, I don't think that I should pray for Satan to change his mind.
Me: Why not?
T: Well because if that happend, it would start another another rebellion and a new demon would probably take his place and he might even be worse and it would start a whole another big mess.
It's both amazing and amusing with what goes on in their heads.

Wow! Isn't it incredible how our little ones' minds work? That's a lot of in-depth thinking. You've got yourself a thoughtful child there! And good for you with your answers. God is good to supply what we need to say, isn't He?
How wonderful that you got a 5-day break! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought of you and the "hypermile" when I drove to Portland, OR, last Friday. I used some of the things I remembered reading off that web site you mentioned and I'm getting 40 mph in my Prius.
Enjoy your week!
Kate
