Monday, September 29, 2008 - Fall In To Reading Challenge 2008

Posted in: Reading

It's time for another seasonal reading challenge over at Callapidder Days and so I need to do an update of my Reading List for 2008 and see where I am at in my progress. I have been keeping track of someof my reading via facebook of late and think that is why I haven't written much about it here. I will need to address this at some point but for now will just add a few I am working on now. I may come back and edit this later....

Currently Reading:

Sushi For One?

How to Ruin Your Life by Forty

The Metamorphosis

Thre Road From Home

May I just add that not ONE of these titles appeared on my ORIGINAL 888 list...SIGH...

It's true...So many books so little time....

UPDATES:
20 March: I completed a couple more titles and have finally decided on category headings for my list. What do you think...did I cop out choosing "Mixed Bag" and "Miscellaneous"? Oh.well. I need three more books but since I named that category "Miscellaneous" I can allow for serendipity to rule. (Is that an oxymoron?) As for my  Winter Reading Challenge List I read plenty, but not all that I put on this list. It helps that I chose titles from my overall 2008 List. Today begins the Spring Reading Thing 2008 and I will be taking part in that as well just to keep plugging away at my 888 list. So how are you doing?

Feb 28 - Found a few titles on sale so picked them up: My Men Are My Heroes, Lone Survivor, Sugar Camp Quilt, Alaskan Quest series, Heirs of Montana series.

Feb 11 - Momma (and more) was sharing what she found at her library to read and I decided to update my reading list. I am hoping it will take my mind off my stupid side bar error...yes I am kicking myself over this and so frustrated (with myself) that I don't want to attempt redoing it. I am praying instead that the bloggy fairy will come and do it for me. There IS a bloggy fairy isn't there? Great...now I am thinking about my side bar again and not my reading list...SIGH!

Tuesday, January 22, 2008 - Bible Shared

Posted in: Reading

I hope you noticed the new widget on the left side bar  (if you follow me in a reader you need to click over and check it out). I just found it today via Sunflower Faith. Signing up is quick and easy.

This is a sweet and simple widget that will monitor your Bible reading progress for 2008! Mine shows 0% right now because I need to go in and update what I've read. This is an ingenious tool to use in conjunction with the Bible reading plan of your choice. I read through some of the author's blog and see he has some ideas he plans to implement in the future so watch for even more improvements and awesome tweaks to this nifty little tool.

Monday, November 5, 2007 - Fall Into Reading Update

Posted in: Reading

I am about to begin another book on my list so thought now was a great time to do an update on my progress!

Pictures of Hollis Woods - an odd and sad story about foster care

Flames of Rome - a word of caution on certain passages; be sure to discuss with your child as they read! Gives a challenging look at Ancient Rome; the description of the Christian persecutions was very graphic along with Nero's depraved acts.

Shining Company - challenging vocabulary and pronunciations

Ramsay Scallop - interesting and quick read, a couple "racy" moments (at least for my non-public schooled child)

Trumpeter of Krakow - based on a Polish legend; activities

Parcel of Patterns - beginning it tonight
