Well, we have had an eventful morning, and I just have to give PRAISE TO MY HEAVENLY FATHER FOR HIS PROTECTIVE HAND UPON US.
I woke up a little before 6 to our dogs just going balistic. I thought, must be a moose outside, so I got up to let them out. When I got downstairs, I did look out the windows, but didn't see anything, but then the doorbell started ringing (we live 5 miles from the closest town, and about a 1/2 mile off the highway. Our nearest neighbor is a little over a mile as the crow flies). But, I didn't see a rig. By the time I got to our back door, there was someone in my house. The dogs backed him right out, but as I started down the stairs, he reopened the door - I backed him out. I went on downstairs and woke W since we had a *visitor*- he's bigger than me, so I figured he would be more intimidating than me.
I went back to the door and opened it and asked him what he wanted. He *said* that he was lost and hungry. I told him he needed to get back on the highway and get to one or other of the nearest towns. This went back and forth a few times. I finally told him that he had come into my house uninvited and he needed to go. I shut and locked the door, and then locked the rest of the doors. I called my Beloved, who was at work, and then the sherriff's office.
I told the dispatcher that I was at home alone with my children and I wanted this young man picked up. When my Beloved got home, he was livid. There was a girl at the end of the driveway, but not the guy who had been at the house. The cops finally showed up, but they appeared to be gone - my Beloved thought that he had seen a car stop on the highway like they were picking someone up. Just as my Beloved was getting ready to head back to work, he saw something in the weeds - this guy was sitting in the weeds in our field! We don't know why, he wouldn't tell anything to the cops, and denyed there was a girl with him. Anyway, they cuffed him and took him to jail.
I praise God for keeping us safe, and for my Beloved not seeing this guy until the cops were here. I have rarely seen my husband like he was this morning. He is our protector!
So glad the Lord kept you safe today. I hopped over from the blog list on the main page after seeing your story. WOW! I just cannot imagine. The weird thing is, we live in town and had just started looking to buy a property that sounds almost exactly as yours...off the highway miles from either town. Makes me second guess our thoughts for moving. I just cannot imagine some stranger showing up and it has been a topic for discussion around here since we began looking at this property. I am very glad to hear that God took care of everyone and that your hubby could get home quickly. Take care with prayer.
Praising God with you for your protection! How scary! It is so comforting to know that God is in control when you are faced with these kinds of things. Thanks for adding me to your friends list!
