So, I don't know who started all this madness ~ , but now I'm in the thick of it apparently; having been tagged not just once, but twice!
Here are the rules, as I understand them.
Post rules before giving facts.
Name 8 random facts/habits about yourself.
People who are tagged are to write their own blog post about their 8 things and post rules.
At the end of the blog post, choose 8 people to get tagged and list their names. Leave a comment on their blog telling them they're tagged & to read your blog.
One of the ladies that tagged me was so excited because she figured out the numbered list thingie. Me too! So much so, I'll do it twice.
Facts about me. Hmmmmm.
I love the Lord, and desire to be a godly woman. Right now I'm working on developing a deeper relationship with my Lord. I have been scandalously lax in having a consistent devotion time, and while I'm still not managing a consistent *time*, I am doing better with getting in Scripture reading everyday. I also want to work on more worship in my daily living. A great book on developing an intimate relationship with God, that I am reading right now is: "A Place of Quiet Rest" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. It is full of wonderful wisdom, and as a bonus, I got my copy at Goodwill!
Which leads right into my second fact, shopping is my spiritual gift. Okay, I know that's not listed in Scripture, but I *really* am a good shopper (esp. thrift shopping)! And, I have used my "gift" of shopping to bless folks in need ~ so doesn't that qualify as a spiritual gift? No? Don't tell my husband! LOL I do enjoy thrift shopping, especially finding that perfect item or piece of clothing at a *great* bargain!
I have been on two short-term mission trips to Italy. While now I would not dream of leaving my husband and children for three weeks at a time, God really used these trips to get me out of my comfort zone and to begin to *really* grow me spiritually. Even now, almost 10 years later, I still get a little "homesick" for Italy in the summer, and love to eat lots of pasta and fresh baked bread! If only you get *real* gelato in the US!
I met my beloved while working at the Greyhound Track in Post Falls, Idaho. We worked(together) for different kennels the first couple of years of our marriage before moving on. We both still have a real soft spot for greyhounds ~ in *fact* , we have one as a pet now. Very sweet tempered, mellow dog. Her name is Zoe.
I love baseball! Go Mariners!!! We try to get one trip to Seattle each summer that allows us to go to a game. 2 of our sons have gotten to go to a game for their 9th birthday. One of those 2 was born during a Mariners game (NOT at the ball park!) LOL. We had to watch that one from the delivery room. Just as Logan was being born, a homerun was hit...by a Mariner!
Horses are dear to my heart. If I wasn't a Wife and Mama, I would work with horses in some capacity. While I don't have a lot of time to ride or do anything more ambitious than that, I do thoroughly enjoy standing at my sink, looking out at my beautiful Arabians and two ponies. Some of my children share my love, so we do get some riding in together, and we have rodeoed in the past ~ hope to again in the future!
I told my husband what our first daughter's name would be before we were even married. He married me anyway! She is named after my maternal Grandma who was instrumental in my growing up. They lived just up the hill from us, and there was always a path worn in the field between our house and theirs. I think I spent a portion of every summer day at my Grandma's house when I was growing up. She's been gone, goodness, I think 9 years now, and I still miss her terribly.
Last one! I drive a big green 15 passenger van, but I'm a cowgirl at heart, and would like to have a big Dodge quad-cab! With matching horse trailer of course. Can you fit 7 children in a quad-cab????
Now, who do I tag? Well...I can't come up with 8 people, but I did come up with 5. I love the random blog thingie! Okay, I'm going to do the numbered list *3* times!
And so, this is the end of my tag post. Had it not gotten so late, I would have searched until I found 3 more interesting looking blogs ~ that are current!, but sleep wins.
