Crayola Art Studios

English Grammar I

Crayola Art Studios is the new digital draw and paint program from Core-Learning.

This is an AWESOME program!  We have had so much fun drawing pictures and painting “stained glass”.  My children ask to do this every day.  So, while I’m working with one child on schoolwork, the other gets to draw and paint with Crayola Art Studio.

You can use crayons, markers, colored pencils, water colors and many other drawing/painting tools to create computerized masterpieces.  The tools are so realistic that the paint looks like paint and the crayons leave texture like real crayons.  It’s pretty cool.

We now have many pretty pictures (all unique) saved on our hard drive.  You can even import photos, making this like a kid-friendly version of Photoshop (to some extent).

Core-Learning also has a few other programs they offer in addition to Crayola Art Studios.   These other programs are designed for elementary and middle school children, focusing on the basic curriculum areas of Health, Math, Language Arts, Thinking Skills and Science.

My children really enjoyed the Health for Kids Series.  We started with the program about our bodies and learned about our mouths, throats, etc.  It was very fascinating and interactive with little tests, menus to go through, etc.
