Another Birthday!

My oldest girl is four!  Her birthday was yesterday.  She surprised us, for sure.  We call her our honeymoon baby.  Born 3 weeks early, she was so tiny.  I'll have to see if I can upload a picture.  Let me tell you how she got her name.  I was about 12 weeks pregnant when I started spotting.  After a visit to the hospital, they told me I had a condition called Placental Previa.  I had never heard of it.  It is where the placenta attaches itself over the opening of the birth canal.  Then they told me this could be fatal.  I was thankful that I did not have to be on complete bedrest, but no aerobic or cardio work at all.  Let's just say it was a long pregnancy!  But, they scheduled a c-section 3 weeks before her due date ( I was not allowed to go into labour with this condition) and thought we'd made it through the worst.  Keep in mind this is all within the first few months of our marriage as well!  What a way to adjust!  But going in for the c-section, the doctor told my husband, "Make sure her things are in order, we could still lose them both on the table".

You know what?  We were both fine! God took us through a long and fearful time, but gave us a beautiful little girl as a blessing!  Hence, her name, Mercy.  I'm so thankful for her, and she's growing up so fast.  I hope we remember to tell her how thankful we are for her, and to tell her often.  I'm glad we chose a name that will remind us as well.  Happy birthday Mercy!
