Would you like to get a free book?

Who doesn't love free?!?

I'm looking for some book reviewers.

I have compiled five books.  These books are simply compiled Scriptures on specific Biblical topics.

The books are:

The Word of God on Being a Woman, a Wife, and a Mother,

The Word of God on Healing,

The Word of God on Prosperity,

The Word of God on the Parables of Jesus Christ,

and

The Word of God on the Words of Your Mouth.

These are e-books, so you would receive them in your email.

You will be given the book free of charge in exchange for a written review posted somewhere online.  This could include your blogs, facebook, twitter, etc.

Thanks!

~Candy~

Teaching Math the Easy Way

Do you have a child that has difficulty with counting and doing simple math?

Hand him a jar of pennies. Tell him he can keep as many as he can count.

Change the problem to a money problem. Kids love money! Instead of: What's 2+3, say what if you have $2.00 and I give you 3 more?

Let me know how it works out for you!

Mary Had a Little Lamb

Unknown Author

Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,
T'wasn't even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.

And then the rules all changed one day,
illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name.

Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!

Our Hike In The Woods

This afternoon while the little ones slept and daddy had a rest, the older four children and I went exploring in our own woods.  When I gave the suggestion, it was met with cheers!

First stop was to say hi to Cinnamon and Flicka - Flicka is our friends horse.

They started to follow us for a bit.

The pond on our neighbour property. I use to skate on this pond when in my teens.  :)  At that time my parents owned it.

Our happy 6yr old son.

Our bouncy 4 yr son....

Entering the woods, we followed a deer path most of the time.  The woods are just full of deer paths!
At one time it took us through what reminded me of the slough in Pilgrim's Progress.  Our woods backs onto some wetlands.

R. sitting on a vine

My big girl

Our four young explorers...

Geese flying overhead
R.'s first response to the water is, "I wouldn't want to swim in there, looks like an alligator pond."  :)

Just after we left the woods, we heard a rustling in the tall grass beside us, there was this wild turkey trying to get away through the fence.  If you look hard you can see the turkey in this picture.

On our way home!
It was an enjoyable hike and the children hope to do it again soon.    God is so good.

A Horse And So Much To Learn

Having a our own horse has been quite the learning experience.  The girls have really enjoyed having Cinnamon and we have learned a lot and we are still learning.   I have now riden her and it was lovely, I just need to build my confidence around her now.  She is really good with S, our oldest daughter, but around me, she likes to put her ears back and will bit if given the chance.  Not good at all!!  So I need to let go of my fears and show her I am not afraid and that she needs to respect me.  I have worked with her and cleaned her hooves etc....  so I know it will come.  I have been reading up on horses and what to do in certain situations, so now it is just putting it all into practice.

Here is S. with Cinnamon

I've been neglectful

with blog posts lately.  Seems there are too many other things to fill my waking hours.  We went to my Dad's ranch this weekend for an early Thanksgiving.  Always an enjoyable time.  We were even able to hunt arrowheads, a favorite pasttime on Sunday afternoons when I was growing up.  I didn't find any arrowheads, only pieces of pottery and petrified wood.  I was able to share the experience with my kiddos, pointing out to them the signs of long ago Indians in the area, specifically the gray "burnt rocks" indicating there had been a camp/cooking fire.

We expect to move Mom into the back house this week.  She's begun bringing boxes over, but we need to get the final certificate of occupancy, hopefully Wednesday.

School - I'm looking forward to next semester, hoping things will be more settled by then.  We've learned a bit about the Hittites, Cretes, etc this week, coinciding with our study of Israel preparing to enter the promised land.  We're also studying communication.  I'm pretty sure I didn't do a very good job teaching about telecommunications, lasers and satellites.  Science is my weakest subject and it shows!

C had a good math week.  We use MUS with her, but she rarely enjoys math.  This week, though, she got the concepts quickly, aced most of her work, and even said math might be her favorite subject!

I'm keeping this short so I can get some prep time in for school tomorrow.  Hoping your Thanksgiving week is filled with reminders of God's faithfulness.

This beautiful family of mine is what is keeping me busy and I wouldn't change it.  I know that I will have time for blogging, but right now I must tend to my family.

This is not a good bye post, but just letting you all know I'm still here, but my time is limited...

The days and nights are full, but I have so much to be thankful for.
The Lord is good!
