We made it!!! Dh's finally back after 8 days away from the family. He had an awesome time ministering with the CVC team & the best is that he came back with 2 packs of yummy Mauritian ham & ....chilli!!! Now these are fantastic, delicious, yummy, top-of-the-world, freshly made chilli sauce!!! I told him that if he should be leaving us behind again to go to Mauritius, he'd better come back with a huge bottle to make it worth *my* while :) And so, he did! We even had enough to give to my parents & ils. I'll try to figure out how to post pix here on my blog. But meanwhile, you have to take my word for it that the children (& me) did up a lovely colourful banner that said "Welcome Home Daddy!" I had to shoo everyone out of the house & then carefully string up across the entrance. They were so excited the night before and kept talking about going to the airport to fetch daddy. At dinner the nite before, Esther (3) said pensively, "Daddy is taking so long to come home!" And when dh came home, she was stuck to daddy like glue. And she kept on beaming. The rest were happy to see daddy too but somehow, she showed it the most. Ruth was cute in that she refused to go to dh or even let him come to her at the airport but once we were home, she also kept on looking for him. It was so sweet to see that even the young ones missed daddy. And so we all survived the long 8 days. I am totally exhausted. I guess i didn't realised that I had been a bit tensed doing everything around the house & once dh came home, my system just had to rest. We've been taking turns getting our much needed naps in the afternoon. Our routine is almost back to normal now. I just give thanks to the Lord God for sustaining me through it all & being with all of us, though we'd been separated. For indeed to do this on my own strength would have been impossible. Praise God! |
