Ignored Advice

Posted in My Say

Yet another rant...

Why do people ask for advise but refuse to take them?!

I'll let it pass once, twice, maybe even three times, but consistently so??? I get annoyed. If you don't trust my judgement and advice, then why ask me???

I am not saying I know everything or I am always right, but really, if you don't like what I say, disagree with my philosophy of life, then why ask?

Strange.

Imagine this:

You go to a cafeteria.
The desert table has 8 kinds of deserts on it.
Each desert has a small plate next to it, with a 'sample'.
You can take a bite of 8 different deserts.
Then you decide which one you like the most and you chose it.

Same goes with advice.
Some people want to grow, learn, change.
Those are 1 in 1.5 million.
The rest?
They want 8 different opinions.
They will select the opinion that matches what they WANT TO DO........and say "oh thank you for the advice, I took your advice and it worked out!!"

When people want my advice?
I point them to Scripture.
It's never wrong.

Laura - I'm all for scripture sister! But some things just aren't in there, kwim? Eg. how should I organise my shelves/cupboards or something along those lines.

These aren't what I call, salvation issues. :)

I have people like that too. I have learnt to give a 'short-sweet-simple' answer, something that will not take lots of efforts from me.

And, I also learn to answer a question with more questions before giving my point of view.
