Sick!

Posted in General

Being sick is no fun and being pregnant and sick and having to look after 6 children is worse!

The 1st day is often always the worst! The head is pounding, the throat is scratchy, causing one to cough incessantly. And when I do cough, it's phelmy. Yucks! And to top it off, the body aches. Oh and when one is pregnant, having bad coughing fits is erm...embarrasing too!

All in all, it's quite a miserable time.

And I am praying that the bug stops with me. Imagine it going round and round. How fun - not!

I think the toddler is not well or going to be not well either. So, so, so, so grumpy! :(

Are you better now? Have you tried soup with pear/apple, sweet and bitter almonds, chuan bei (have to check with medical hall if it's ok for pregnant moms), lily buds and honeyed dates in it? Soothes the cough and stops it soon. If you haven't been eating well, add a hard boil egg or two, so you can have that too? This soup has done wonders for me many times. :)

I am not better but I am not worse either :) The scratchy throat is gone - yay! But the phelgm is yucky, esp in the mornings.

Thanks for your soup recipe but I somehow never have good reactions to such preparations. In fact, I think it was mil's potent herbal chicken soup that got me into this fix :(

It's just Vit C, garlic and manuka honey for the moment. And lots of water.

Thanks again!
