Are you ready?

There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:1-5

The latest news update about the Mumbai terrorist attack was sad and shocking. Many people were slain and even more have been injured. Locally, we too, have felt its impact as we received news that a young and promising 28 yr old woman has been slain. It has made everyone sit up and wake up. No one is immune from terrorism. No one is immune from death.

As I sat pondering on the situation, the bible passage (Luke 13:1-5) above came to mind., especially the verse, UNLESS YOU REPENT YOU WILL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH.

Yes, unless I repent (of my sins and call on His name), I will likewise perish (suffer eternal hell).

How about you? Are you ready to repent and accept Jesus' call to salvation? We don't know when we are going to leave this earth for eternity. Are you going to eternal hell or eternal heaven when that happens? Do you know?

And what are you occupying yourself with these days? Buying and selling? Eating and drinking? As in the days of Noah? Be careful, for we ARE in the last days, like it or not.

No, one one knows when Jesus is coming again and no one knows when our last day on earth is going to be. So are we going to be like the wise virgins or the foolish virgins? See Parable of the 10 Virgins.

And have you made peace with those you have offended and have been offended by?

So how is one to be saved? Simple - believe on the Lord Jesus, the only begotten Son of God who came as a man to seek and save the lost. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. Sorry, no 2 ways about it. Christianity is exclusive. Read The Exclusiveness of Christianity I wrote back in September 2008.

I leave you with a quote from the story of the Philippian jailer who asked : “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:30-31.
