• Feb. 25, 2007 - Week In Review!
Can you believe it has been a week already? Let me just say that we have had to HUGE events happen this week and I just Praise the Lord for HIS faithfulness.
#1- Brandon had to go to the ER on Monday night around 11pm. He uses an earplug as part of our therapy and I normally buy the foam kind that you roll between your fingers and place in the ear canal which then expands?
Well, this week I bought the clay kind that you just place in the outer ear shell, NOT in the canal but did not give the new instruction to my poor, unsuspecting son. When he went to pull the ear plug out like normal it was STUCK!
As we pulled into All Children's hospital, I could see the waiting room FULL of sick kids and I inwardly groaned, but God graciously blessed us. One of my public speaking students moms (who happens to have taught Brandon at co-op before) was the triage nurse and when she saw us she took us back used a special water irrigation to remove it and sent us home without ever having to check in. No Co-Pay and No wait at all. THANK YOU JESUS and Thank YOU Cara!!!!
#2- This one a bit more serious. Tonight (Saturday) Scott and I went on our date night. Brandon was babysitting and we get this phone call telling us that smoke is pouring out of our bedroom and that it smells like something is burning.
He was so very calm. He turned everything off in our bedroom, but said the smoke was so heavy it was coming out of the vents throughout the house! (eek) There was no flame and it was not getting worse and we were driving like the wind to get home. (we were 20-30mins away) I called my friend and neighbor Angie and she wasn't home but her husband Chuck was and he came running.
They were up in the attic and searching frantically for the source of the smoke. We finally realized that it was my old wall unit air conditioner. (almost 5yrs old) We don't really use it anymore since we had ducts put into our room (it's an addition) but had turned it on today for the "noise" so we could nap.
Unfortunately, we had moved our dresser in attempt to put the treadmill in the room and the mirror was blocking the vent. (blush) The house aired out and everything is fine, but that was SCARY! I am so proud of how calm Brandon was.He later told me that had the smoke gotten worse or had he seen flames or had he not been able to reach us he would have taken the phone, removed the kids and called 911.
*** TUESDAY - PARK DAY!
We did yearbook photo's this week so I will share our special group with you. I love these gals and their kids! Thank you Dawn and Mary D for starting this group! It is such a blessing to our family 
*** THURSDAY- Grandma
Thursday I took Grams to the doctor for her follow up and he told her she could discontinue home health which means she can drive again!!! YEAH! I thought she was going to kiss the doctor! (LOL) Afterwards, she took the boys and I out to dinner since Scott was working late. We went to Cracker Barrel!
While out with Grandma she surprised me with old Pictures from when I was a little girl. I am going to scan them and make an album for her. But I wanted to share some very special ones with you. As most of you know I have a very dear friend named Andrea. I call her Andie and she calls me Mary Leigh because we've been friends since we were very young. Well, these pictures will show you just how young we were when we started our friendship:

Yes, she's a little blurry but I cannot find another picture of her right now? This was when we went to breakfast for her b'day! Andie is a beautiful, Godly wife and mother and I am blessed to call her FRIEND!
