My friend Brandy has used a computer based program called Time4Learning and she has really enjoyed it. She has graciously answered questions for me and then afterwards I procrastinated going any further. However, recently the Lord just kept bringing it to mind and I took the plunge!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words!

Let me just say this was almost 8pm and He has been working hard ALL day! I love how Jacob sits and watches him

His reward for a job well done! (at the end of the lesson they have a fun activity. He got to paint this (digitally) and then print!
Time4learning can be used to supplement, but truly it is a complete curriculum and is used in classrooms. However, I love using it as a homeschooler because I have the ability to make it my own! I know I might be jumping the gun here a bit, but I was actually on line investigating some Macintosh laptops so they we can switch ALL the boys over.
As it stands right now, T4L'ing is for pre-K thru 8th, but they are investigating bringing the highschool in. You pay only 19.95 per mo w/ NO contract and 14.95 for each additional child. The lessons are SOLID, as a matter of fact I had to go down a bit to make it fit Seth.
It is graphically beautiful, with music and animation. The child learns the lesson, does the work and then the reward is that they get to play a game and it's all programmed in for me. I don't have to do anything but be there!
It reminds me of what I loved about Paces. I can focus on teaching the subjects I LOVE,(winterpromise) Therapy, Co-op and park day!
I am using it for everything for Seth (other than him sitting in on my WP) and I just signed my oldest up tonight who needs remedial in his math. I love that they do lessons first and then they get rewarded with games or activities. Many of the lessons have links so you can download and print activity pages to do in "addition" to the lesson if you wish. (you don't have to, but we will)
In addition to all this T4Learning keeps all of your record keeping and you can print it and put it in your notebook!

By the way, I do not work for this company. I'm just excited and wanted to share it with others! |
