Happy Birthday Aunt Bobbie

When I married my Scotty over 20 years ago there were so many wonderful blessings that came with the package. One of the big ones was his family. I truly love them. The one person I didn't get to meet at the beginning was Scott's Aunt Bobbie. (though we heard beautiful things about her) She lives in another state and it just did not work out that we would get to spend quality time with her until later in our life.
Our first meeting was at my sister in law, Niki's wedding. We all stayed at the same hotel and had the opportunity to spend lots of quality time together. It was in those busy, hectic moments that I would snatch moments of quiet to sit and talk with her. I knew immediately that I loved her. I am so sad that we don't live closer, but I have come to appreciate our cyber relationship and then when we get together for family events It feels very natural to sit and chat.
Over the years we've built a relationship via e-mail and this blog. I have learned to appreciate and admire so many things about her. This past March we all stayed at the same hotel for my Sister In Law, Courtney's wedding and she had her daughter Carrie with her. I remember sitting at the table and having breakfast together and as we talked I was able to see that their close relationship. They are friends and they love one another deeply. Carrie is precious beyond words and a lovely young woman. I could see all the things I love about Aunt Bobbie, deeply embedded in Carrie's character.
So Aunt Bobbie, I just want you to know that we LOVE YOU! I pray you have the BEST birthday ever! If you close your eyes you can feel the boys running up to you and throwing their arms around your waist. |
