Well....here goes....I've been wanting to start a blog for a while now, and I guess now is the time to begin.....I hope to chronicle the many events from our family's life.....both with the children that have left home and with the one that still remains.....the season of life for our family is definitely changing....Jon, now 24, is married to Angela and living in Oregon....we only see them occasionally and that is hard......Kerri, now 22, married Chris on May 28th, and they are living up on the Pennisula, about an hour and a half from us....Ryan, now 20, is leaving for a year-long around the world backpacking trip, ALONE, on July 6th......and Nathan, now 8, is the only child left at home........

This blog's purpose is my attempt to keep the family updated with what's going on with each one in their own place, with Ryan's travels and how Nathan is growing and learning as he adjusts to being the only one left at home......because Jon, Kerri and Ryan are grown and going their own separate ways, it is even more important for us to all keep up-to-date on what's happening in all of our worlds....even though our paths have diverged, they are still walked together as a family.....

It is also my hope to have a written record of our continued adventures in our learning.....things are going to be changing now that Nathan is the only one home with me.....I'm excited about the opportunities we have in front of us.....this will be a place to share the continuing homeschool adventures of our family......2006 marks our 20th year of homeschooling and it is still, in my mind, the very best way to grow and educate my children.....

I also hope this will be a place where I can share what I've learned through the past year's experiences, and what I am continuing to learn....a place to continue to explore new ideas and solidify ones that are still developing....

So.....here we go.....life continues to be an adventure just waiting around the corner and I'm looking forward to sharing it with others who are on the same path......
