The Great Weigh-In -- Starting Out

I am small-framed (think size 4 ring) and only 5'3", so I really shouldn't weigh any more than 110 lbs.

That means I have 46 lbs to lose! I got on the scale today. 156 lbs!
My BMI is 27.6

My goal date is July 31, 2006

you can do it!

I have heard some people have good luck by making partial goals. Like rather than having a goal of 46 pounds, have a goal of 10 pounds, then after that and feeling good for acheiving your goal, set another 10 pound goal.

I weigh more than what I want, but more than that I need to work out and tone up I think

Set goals and ask the Lord to help you pursue them in His
strength! I'm working on losing ten pounds my little 5'2 frame has
gained this past year. Seems like it just WON"T come off. Then again,
maybe I should exericise! (ha ha) I'm going to jump on our treadmill tomorrow and hope to remain strong in the Lord so I can lose what I need to. When you're small boned and short, pounds seem to add up fast in the mirror! We know that the Lord loves what we have IN Him on the inside and I rest in that as I work on the outside! :)) BLessings!

It sounds like you are making major changes already. Great job! I read the Maker's Diet and loved it. It makes such good sense. The average American diet stinks. No wonder everyone has cancer, diabetes and arthritis. Another book I really enjoyed is "Greater Health God's Way" by Stormie Omartian.

I wanted to ask what exercise program you are using. If you don't already have one, I'd like to suggest Power 90 from www.Beachbody.com. It is excellent! It's basic, straightforward and totally transforming. You don't need a bunch of fancy equipment and it will change everything about you, as long as you are willing to stop eating junk. (I don't work for them and I don't get any kickback from sharing this with you.) I am 34 weeks pregnant and can't wait for the go-ahead after the baby's born to start excercising with this again. It's work, but it's worth it.

What a great start!
I start my goals next week when I can get to the store and get all the right food. We're emptying out the pantry this week.
Way to go!
