A crisp morning of watching critters...little and BIG
|
One of my favorite things to do is watch my horses after I let them out of their stalls in the mornings. Some days, they act like horses in the wild and other days they just mope out and find place to graze. Today was a morning of both. Most of my horses were just wanting to graze while our famous 3 year old baby Nipper wanted to act like a "horse in the wild". I love it when they play. Nipper proceded to try and get every horse in the field to play with him. He went from the 21yr. old mare to, our 19 yr. old gelding, then to our 14yr. old gelding, ot 12 yr. old mare, to 6 yr. old mare. Everyone pinned their ears at him and shewed him away. He is sooo funny, so he went off by himself and started buckin', rearin', and actin' like a wild buckin' bronco', hopin' that someone would join in on the fun, but noone did. heehee. While, to the left of me, my three cats were playing with each other in the trees. They were chasin each other and havin' a grand old time. I thought for a minute that maybe Nipper could or would join them, cause they were in the same field cause he does approach them quite often, but I must say he is a bit intmidating to them...lol.
ANd, as I'm blogging my Beagle and German Shepherd are out front chasing each other in the front yard. It's so theraputic to watch my animals. It brings me great pleasure to know that they are happy here.
I wish I had a camera this morning to post my cats, my dogs and Nipper and his "fuddyduddy field mates", but I typically don't bring a camera to the barn with me.... I guess I better start.

It is so funny and such a joy! I love watching Jett run around here after living in an apartment for 4 months all cooped up! He is having such a good time playing with other animals and chasing his tail, napping on the front porch. Our kitty cat is doing great too adjusting to the new house - laying in the window and sunning herself! It is a BLAST and a deep piece of contentment to see them happy here!

We just brought home our 2 weanlings this past week. We have had horse experience but never owned one ourselves. My dd has a passion for horses and the common sense to go with it so we thought we would give it a try. I am afraid of horses and I will be working with the little ones to overcome my anxiety with them. The black one is a boy and is scared of everyone still, he will come up to me, weird. I guess he figures we can both be scared together. He nipped my 7yr old in the arm though and his grandpa is a biter. We need to really work on that naturally born habit. The horses are so awesome and beautiful. Your nipper is a blue roan? Our bay has a blue roan mommy. So far she has no signs of roan in her but she is very dark red and her dad is tan?? We haven't traced down her roots yet to see why she is the color she is. Nice to meet one of Kates friends and thanks for stopping by my blog, I enjoyed checking yours out. Did you find out where the snake came from. We lived in one of those houses when I was a child. We moved out within months. Blesssings
