Sun, Salt Water, Sand, Us and Our Horses.... "A Perfect Combination"

Here we are!!! WHAT A BLAST!!! The top left hand corner is all of us that went. then the next corner, was my friend Pam "helping"  me ans Pacos into the water. I was determined to get her in, and so I told Pam to pony us in, and it worked....woohoo!!  Then, bottom left hand corner is some more of our friends Scott and Cindy, then the picture beside them is Melissa and her faithful thoroughbred, Storm. Then, here at the bottom is me on my Pacos ALL THE WAY IN THE WATER.

We rode all day on Saturday and about 3 hours on Sunday. We boarded our horses at a race track right down the road in between Ocean City and Assategue Island. It was perfect. This is Pam and Mine's second annual trip. The first year I took the horse that you have seen me on in my avatar. I have since then sold him and bought my pacos. So, I need to change my avatar with Pacos and me now together. heehee.

Anyway, we are going to make this trip annually to Assategue. This is really all we go down for... is to ride horses on the beach. Some of us didn't even go out to eat. We got up ate breakfast, went to the barn and fed the horses loaded up the trailers and off we went to the beach and tacked up and rode and then went back to the barn unloaded the horses and fed them and went home showered and Melissa cooked and we went to bed for the night. Same thing the next morning, then headed home. Although, Judy, Pam, and, Heather went out for some delicious seafood one night!! Go Girls!! Cindy and Scott ate at the delious Dumsers ice cream and brought me back a sundae.

Anyway, the beach ride was the BOMB!!! And, you can only do this from October from April. October seems to be the best time because of the water temperature. Well, I'm off to unpack.....

Wow - I am not a rider - but it looks like it would be a LOT of fun to ride horses in the surf! And you posted a ton of pictures - I am so proud of you! You go girl. We were sitting at the dinner table talking last night about you - Kendra and Kaitlyn were saying how much fun you are - and how sweet you are - and how much they miss babysitting for you. Kendra said, "Miss JJ should live in Texas. She's perfect for it!" So if you and Del go thinking about moving - there are HUGE tracts of land - and great weather most of the year! We know a neat little town we'd be glad to recommend too!!! (Just bring your theater and your margarita man with you!)
PS - Do you know that Tina Whitacre found Margarita flavored jell-o mix in Martins and sent me a box?? haha haaaa! I was rollin'!

I have horse and vacation envy. I rode all the years growing up and loved it. I miss riding although I have gotten to do some lately. I need to ride this weekend. I rode English/ Hunter Jumper for years and did Dressage too. It was a sure fire passion of mine. Your trip looks like so much fun

thanks for visiting.
i'm glad you are being light in the public schools. it's wonderful and my conversation the other night made me realize how much more i need to pray for those in the public school system. i know it must be hard but i certainly don't criticize you for your choice. God calls all of us to a different place.

as far as dressage goes i don't think it's at all like western pleasure. there is a totally different air about it and it's very formal and i'd almost describe it as horse aerobics although it takes a lot of "leg" from the rider too. i find western so much more pleasureful. when i want to get lost in what i'm doing hunt seat or dressage certainly works because i feel it takes a lot more of my concentration. when i want to relax and have fun western is the way i go.

hope this helped a little.
