A Tale of A Multicultural Family........................Life As We Know It

Oct. 31, 2008 - Want a Famous Tree?

I found this article in Southern Living that I thought was pretty neat. It says that you can purchase an offspring of a tree that has a famous history.

From the website: "Our Famous & Historic Trees program brings history alive by propagating and selling the offspring of trees connected to famous people, events, and places. From George Washington to Johnny Appleseed, Walt Disney to Ray Charles, our trees witnessed the birth of our nation-and all aspects of its history thus far. Because the planting of a tree is an investment in the future, Famous & Historic Trees offer a unique way to connect both our past-and our future."

They have an incredible amount of choices. Some of them: George Washington's Tulip Poplar, Gettysburg Address Honeylocust, Robert E. Lee Southern Magnolia, Mark Twain Cave Bur Oak, Survivor Tree from OK City, & Elvis' Sweetgum...just to name a few.
