Al Qaeda urges "whole world" battle and Psalms 83

Al Qaeda calls on Muslims to fight Israel

Signs of the times.  What more can I say?

Meantime, did you read the news about the book of Psalms found in Ireland?  It is quite a find, and from the medieval period.  Very interesting that it was opened to Psalm 83:  "The book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of Israel."

Here's Psalm 83: (emphasis mine)

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Jul. 28, 2006 - Speechless!

I'm crying and having goose bumps. Psalm 83 on your post caught my eyes, then I went to check CNN.com to see which day the news was reported on. It's Tuesday (July 25th); the same day I was sitting in my kids' dentist's waiting room. While I was waiting, I randomly opened up a pocket Bible that my daughter carried with her (I do that sometimes to see where God would lead me to read.) Psalm 83 was where He led me to read at that moment. At the time, I had no clue about this news. I was thinking to myself after I finished reading, "Wow..this is heavy stuff" :). Amazing! God is so amazing! I don't know whatelse to say right now. I'm speechless!

About Me

It is our family's belief that we are in the last days of the church. This web journal will focus on end time prophecy (and sometimes prophecy fulfilled). Understanding the Word of God, and the times we live in, is the most important thing a homeschool family can study. In these last days of the church, great discernment is necessary. There is " ... no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." 3 John 1:4
