This is the title of an awesome book by Josh McDowell. I've been reading, studying, feasting, meditating, etc on the scripture listed in this book. Wow, I pray God will use this to make me more like Him and to draw me closer to Him.
I haven't posted in a couple weeks. Some weeks I post online and other weeks I use my tried and trusty journal by my bed. Some of the adventures in our life the past couple weeks:
I chauffered Kaykay and some of her friends to see The Pink Panther Movie. This movie provided some good laughs, but was "cheesy" as the girls put it and wouldn't be on my list to purchase.
The weekend before I chauffered my mother, daughter, and niece to see Madea's Family Reunion- definitely a pretty good movie. My mother, who hasn't been to a movie in many years, laughed and laughed. Laughter is good for the heart.
This week we are preparing for vacation next week. In addition to vacation starting next Wednesday, we are going to a Rebecca St. James Concert on Monday. Tuesday is hair day and then about 4 am Wednesday we leave for a few days in Atlanta. After Atlanta we come home to participate in a BSA Eagle Banquet, Bill Gothard Basic Life Seminar and some other things I can't remember off the top of my head.

Today has been rainy all day with the temp in the mid forties, which is nice. Lower temperatures mean ice. Unleaded gasoline was $2.09 at South Walmart and I saw it for $2.05 and a station across the street from Wal-Mart.

-This week has been busy at work, but nice to come home and the children have completed their daily projects although not necessarily all their chores. My mind has been running ninety to nothing with ideas and things I want to do with K and M. We are a very hands on family and our absolute favorite way to educate is by traveling, going to seminars and other events. We are praying about attending an entrepreneurial conference in Nashville next weekend. I know it would be awesome and we would all learn valuable information and skills we will probably use the rest of our lives. I just have to weigh can I take a day off work and is it in the budget? Both children seem interested in the conference and it will definitely be different than anything we have ever done before. We have a trip to Atlanta planned for middle of March and then Basic Life Seminar last week of March. In additional to this my son will work on another scout's eagle project and then we are going to participate in yet another scout in our troop's Eagle Banquet. We will manage to get some formal algebra and french lessons completed too. Oh, and I forgot my daughter's 4-H portfolio is also due first of April. I guess I just need to be calm and wait up on the LORD and quit looking for more projects. I told myself today I'm not going to buy any books for awhile and then turned around and emailed my Usburn Book Lady and wanted to know if she had a couple books on a couple of subjects.

We had sleet Friday night and off and on all day Saturday (2/17 and 2/18/06). We put out lots of feed for the birds and have enjoyed watching the many different species "come to the table and dine". I have given up trying to identify them. There was one sweet little bird who just thought he/she was an olympic dance skater. He did his turns and put his little wings out just so. He was so much fun to watch. Then the greedy cardinals (probably my favorite) were so beautiful soaring back and forth, meeting in midair and just enjoying their free meal. One small squirrel tried to partake of the feast, but the birds didn't make him welcome so he quickly scamptered into the woods and up a tree. I only fed the birds in the backyard so we could watch them out the window, but our front yard was absolutely covered in blackbirds several times during the afternoon. We also had mockingbirds and a few robins devouring the holly berries from our holly trees.
It was 10 degrees this morning, but warmed up to the mid 20's this afternoon with the sun bright and beautiful. Forecast is calling for more sleet tonight- I hope not-
We have to be out early in the morning and I do not like to drive on ice. Praying for warm weather again and I'm sure by midweek we'll be back up to 40-50 degrees. |

My family is planning a vacation to Atlanta, Georgia middle of March. At this time we plan to see the following: Aquarium, Coke Museum, Bodies Exhibit at SciTrek Space at the Atlanta Civic Center (opens March 4th), Fernbank Museum of Natural History,Martin Luther King Jr Birth Home Museum, The Atlantic Cyclorama- The Battle of Atlanta, Underground Atlanta and The Carter Presidental Library.
-------
What are we missing? Any additional suggestions of must see exhibits or neat things to do in Atlanta. How about good hotels in close proximity to these exhibits- By good hotels I mean nice, but not the most pricey in Atlanta?? We will be in Atlanta for five days only.
----
We like science, art, and history as well as nature and of course the kids like anything "fun" |

Hi Everyone, I have enjoyed lurking on this blog for some time, so finally decided to create my own blog. My children and I live in a rural area of Tennessee. We think we live the good life - right in town, but near enough to the farm to visit anytime we wish.
-
We have HS'd for five years and mostly use unit studies, Charlotte Mason, and have used A Beka for math. I enjoy history and science. My son enjoys history, science, reading, and Boy Scouts. My daughter enjoys writing, reading, music, english, and science.
-
The weather here is very windy and 72degrees- March like weather, but just wait tomorrow the high is suppose to be about 33 degrees with sleet and snow forcasted for the weekend.

Looking forward to sharing more soon. |
