Homeschooling at the Speed of Life
Feb. 19, 2007
Welcome to my blog space!

I'm so glad you stopped by my space. This is a new world for me, and I'm glad you joined me here. There is a first time for everything, isn't there? If you landed here from my web site, you know the web address. If you found me another way, please visti my web site when you have time - www.MarilynRockett.com. There is a free download for you and a place to sign up for a free newsletter.

My latest book is finally here - Homeschooling at the Speed of Life: Balancing Home, School, and Family in the Real World. It is a book that has been on my heart for years. When I was a young mother, I longed for a mentor - you know, that Titus 2 woman in my life. She never seemed to be around as I raised four sons. Then I slowly realized that I was becoming that Titus woman, and I knew I had to share with moms from this side of the proverbial fence. I hope that the book will bring encouragement and hope for all you moms who are juggling home, family, and school. I know you want it all to turn out right or you wouldn't be adding the task of education to your already busy lives.

This space is a place for you to ask questions, make comments, and share with me and each other about the struggles and joys in your life as a homeschooling mom.

Let's start with a question:

What is the biggest struggle you face in your home as you balance home and homeschool? Is it time? Priorities? Frustrations with getting it all done? What do you do with a never-ending mountain of laundry (a friend of a friend calls it Mt. Never Rest)? How do you get your children to work? What is your challenge?

I look forward to hearing from you!

I think the thing I have the hardest time with is juggling everything....household duties, making dinner, showers, etc while getting enough schoolwork done and keeping the non school children out of trouble and well fed.

I am looking forward to reading more of what you have to share. Your book sounds like a "must-have".
My biggest struggle with homeschooling seems to be having enough "mommy" to go around. I am hsing an
11, 9, and 7 yr old with a 4yo, 2yo and 7 week old adding to the mix. I love my life and am always looking for ways to improve for the benefit of my family. BTW, I linked here from Martha's blog:-)

My biggest obstacle is finances. I'm a single parent, but really feel I need to continue to stay home and homeschool my 3 kiddoes. We moved recently, so I don't know many people at all. I need ideas for legitimate ways to earn money while working at home - that don't require a network of friends/family.
