Yesterday Our Marine was approached and asked to go to take a new job.
Next weekend he will head to NC for about 4 mns of training. Learning to his new job. It is a pretty special deal for him being in the Air Wing to get to do some Grunt work. He is so excited and I am for him! I know this is what he loves to do and what he has been called to do from our Lord!
He will be away from us during the week and a few weekends while he is living in NC. On some weekends he will get to come see us and we will get to come see him. Thankfully we have some friends up there from our first duty station, so that will be nice to see them too!
Please keep Our Marine and the others going with him in your prayers, please feel free to add him to any prayer list you come across! Thanks so much!!!

Tuesday, November 20, 2007 Not so fun for Our Marine
While my Beloved is on his deployment, training in NC and then leaving for Iraq, he has been in charge of several people. When he left he was in charge of 9 other people for our Station. He is still in charge of those people as far as our XO is concerned, but he is also in charge of some others that he is deploying with. Until recently he was in charge of over 100 Marines. But thankfully some more Sr NCOs were recalled and they have split the numbers up again, but still he must keep tabs on everyone in his Company. Directly under him he had 9 other Marines.
This past Friday was the unit he is presently with's Marine Corps Birthday Ball. The Station he is at while training is very big and they split their Balls up and they also have them away from Base. They had their's about an hour away. Because of some ticket issues we were not able to attend with Our Marine this year and he didn't go for fun, but was pulling duty as he wasn't able to get tickets, so anyone without tickets had to pull a duty. So he was not with his Marines during the Ball. After Our Marine was already in bed some of his Marines were still in this town an hour away "partying". One of his Marines, a female who was a wife and mother, was crossing a street and was hit and killed by an SUV. We don't know exactly how all this took place, but we know that the driver was not at fault and that the Marine was wearing a black ball gown and was not easily seen. We send our love and prayers to her husband, also in the military, and her son! Her funeral is this week in AZ, which is where my Beloved and a few others are headed for Burial Detail. Because of this their unit was "secured" and not able to leave the area for Thanksgiving, on top of the fact that he is on the other side of the country right now also henders us from being together. But their flight is to bring them back in Friday and we will be going to see him for the weekend! =)
If this weren't enough for him to handle one of his 8 other Marines got a DUI on base on Saturday. Then another one in his company got one in town Sunday. So because he is the next person in their Chain of Comand this falls on him and he had to talk to the Sgt Major about all this. Though the Sgt Major knows that he had know direct doings in these things he still has to have "someone" take responsiblity for these Marines actions and that person just so happens to be my Beloved. So right now he is not having the best of times and is really struggling in likeing the Marine Corps.
Please keep my Beloved in your prayers as this is a really hard time for him! Please also pray that when he is face-to-face with this Marine's family at her burial that they do not blame him for any part of her death! Also pray for this Marine's family and that their grief be taken away and that my Beloved may be a witness to them! Thank you all so much for remembering him! |

Sunday, September 16, 2007 Good Bye Breakfast and the LtCol
So Friday as Our Marine was finishing up getting his gear together and talking to the CO of our shop he was called to the XO of our MAG's office. The XO (LtCol) wanted to know where he and the "Marines" were leaving from today. Our Marine told him that they were leaving from our home at 0800. The XO then asked for our address and said he would be here to see them off. So instead of my "usual" cleaning that I do I had to step it up a few notches. (The XO is the 3rd Biggest guy on the AirStation as far as Rank and he is who we fall under for info on the special det)
All went well this morning. We were all up late and then had to wake up early. Everyone was here at 0645 for breakfast. Almost all the food was gone, and what wasn't eaten Camo took care of! The house looked AWESOME and I suprised myself with all the work I got done!
The XO came and gave a little motto talk, told me his wife would be calling me (as we are the only married ones on this det), and then left. The guys all got in their cars and caravaned out of here to NC. Since NC was our last duty station it was/is a little like going home for Our Marine to go there. We have a few friends still there and others near by, so we might get to fellowship with some of them on the weekends! |

Friday, September 7, 2007 Please don't be sorry
No one around here has said it, but some others that I have told about Our Marine leaving have. I don't want this to sound rude, I want it to come across with Love!
Please don't be sorry for Our Marine or our family as he leaves to go to Iraq. This is our calling as a family. God has called Our Marine to serve Him and our country and He has called me to be the wife of a Marine! Just like Our Lord calls Missionaries and Pastors He has called us. We view our military life as a mission field just like missionaries. We move place to place, city to city, state to state, base to base and sometimes go overseas. In this time God puts different people with different religions and walks of life in our path to witness and minister to. For this reason we are not sorry that he is leaving us for a short time!
See if you have read any of our previous posts you will see that Our Marine was set and went to DI school. He would be graduating in a week and a half, but he got sick and was medically dropped from school. We had really prayed over Our Marine going to be a DI and every turn we came to God led us there, so we didn't really understand why God made Our Marine so sick after a week of school. We have been praying about where God wants our family to go in the Corps and here this oppurtunity comes up. Maybe there is someone that Our Marine is to witness too? We don't know? This time he will be interacting with the Iraqi's in person. The majority of these men will be Muslium. So this could be where Our Lord wants Our Marine to witness? We are not sure of the why's right now, but it is possible! Something that we just went through at church was the testimony of a converted Muslium. He shared with our church how to witness to a Muslium. We believe that God does everything for a purpose and can't help but to think that having this "training" 3 weeks before being asked to go and interact with so many Iraqi Muslium goes together in God's Plan!
We do appriecate ALL prayers, we support Our God, Our Country, Our President and Our Marine!
God Bless

Saturday, April 21, 2007 Air Show
This morning we headed off to the Air Show on the Air Station. Little Monkey was excited as he has watched the Blue Angels, or as he calls them "the angels", fly over our house most of the week.
Little Monkey climbed the rock wall and did really well. He had fun touring a C12 and jumping in a bouncy. The rest of the time we watched the air show and sweated! The weather said it was to be cool this weekend so Daddy and Little Monkey were in jeans and thankfully I had them wear short sleeves under their long sleeves so they didn't fry. But none of us could keep enough water in us.
At the end of the show was the Blue Angels performance. When they were getting ready to do their ending we noticed a big cloud of smoke in the tree line. We knew that a plane had gone down before they even said anything. The Blue Angels finished and then everyone went to his rescue. His plane ended up going down not to far from our house. It took us over an hour to get 3miles from the Air Station to Base Housing. We almost thought that we wouldn't get to go home because they were looking the Bases down. But we got here! Of course we had a million messages and a million people to call because everyone back home new we were at the show and that our house was near the crash sight. So we had to assure everyone we were ok.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the Blue Angels and the family of the Pilot!

Monday, March 19, 2007 They Started
They Started
7:30 this morning banging, hammering, yelling, truck engines roaring all down our street. They started tearing down the front of our house so they can start the new porch construction. We can't go out the front door or play in the front yard. I'm not looking forward to this for the next few weeks. Not to mention we can't park in our own drive ways and can barely drive down the street. But it will be pretty when they are done! =) |

Monday, March 12, 2007 Nice wake up Call
Nice wake up Call
Well I was already awake, I was getting ready for the day. It was about 7:30am and I had a knock on the door. They were here to tell me that construction would begin this Friday on our block. Housing is putting on new porches to the front of our homes. He already had the screen porch redid and they put siding around the garage and on the side and screen porch of the house. But this will be loud continous work for weeks. The porches are nice but I'm not looking forward to all the banging and strang guys running around our yard. I KNOW Camo isn't looking forward to it. He can't stand all the people around and that drives me crazy when he is going crazy! Hopefully I can have a before and after picture put up on here sometime! |

Thursday, January 11, 2007 Last Step to DI School
Last Step to DI School
Our Marine’s papers for DI school are on their last step before coming into his hands. All is looking like this is where God wants our family and we are so excited! =)
Our Marine has been in Aviation Ordnance for 6yrs and really didn’t want this MOS. Being a DI will be a challenge, but it is something that he has always dreamed about doing. Thankfully this will not move us as we are in the same town as the depot, so we will stay in housing, Our Marine will just have to drive a different way to work. =)
Right now we just have the expectations that it will be a team effort. We will all be apart of Our Marine’s DI experience, as it will take all of us with God’s help to do this job successfully! We are all excited and can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned for us during this time! =) |
