Prayer Needs

Just an update to those outside of our local area. There were some pretty serious needs that arose in our church over the last two Sundays.

First was a girl named Sarah Linhardt. I'm not sure if any of you met her, but her sister anna went to summer camp and a few YR's. She has a disease called brittle bone disease and is also confined to a wheel chair. She just recently moved out of her house to go to college at Taylor Uni. Seems she had a really bad fall at school (out of the wheel chair is the speculation till we hear from the parents) and broke both of her legs. Her parents found this out Sunday afternoon and rushed to meet her at the hospital. As far as we know they only had to operate on one leg to reset it for casting. With her brittle bone disease though its really easy for her to break any major bone on her body.

Please keep both her and her family in prayer as they go through this especially hard time.

P.S. Also pray for her older brother Daniel as he has chosen to publicly abandon the faith and go his own way. Pray for his return to salvation and for God to help comfort his parents as they cope.

Lastly our first pastor (Mike Frangipane(sp?) ) came down with a pretty bad cold and has been seeming to get more health issues after he retired as our pastor. Please keep him in prayer as he struggles to get better (He's over the major cold, but still recovering to full strength).

Thanks alot!

Luke

I'll be praying. Me and Hannah stayed with the Linhardts while we were at the Dayton youth rally, I believe. I'll definitely be praying.

That sounds like a lot of fun, Luke! :)

We've been having tons of fun here. I think today me and Andrew and Sarah are going out shopping for last minute Christmas gifts.

(I just had a thought - in case anyone's memory needs refreshed, Sarah is my brother Andrew's girlfriend.)

Do y'all have a lot of snow now? We do. The past couple Sundays we haven't been able to go to church because of the snow and ice. Although yesterday we were able to make it over to the Baptist church here in town.

Haha...... and yesterday we were supposed to be the ones to light the Advent candles at church. Wonder who they got instead..... :P

day after christmas (for us at least)

i always have trouble picking my most favoritest gift. but i'd have to say, that my favoritest gift this year is...*drum roll please!* a wii! yes, we got one. shocking, i know. almost as weird as nathaniel getting a cell phone.

but anyway,

the real reason i got on here was to say, (as i do every year) i should not, i repeat, NOT help ethan with his christmas cards. the letter to aunt kathleen was bad enough, but this year he had to write one to his packmaster, mr. webb.

so, i wrote down 'dear mr webb' at the top and waited expectantly for ethan to start dictation. instead, he burst out laughing at the name at fell over onto the floor. when i asked him to get up and what was so funny after all, he simply started laughing all over again. so i told him to straighten up and tell me what to write. (i was a bit on the grouchy side of touchy) so, still giggling, ethan began his letter: (which mama made me crinkle up and write a new one. for obvious reasons, as follows..)
"dear mr. webb,
can you really make webs?
you are killing me with curiosity.
love, ethan
p.s. thanks for...for...for doing nothing."

yeah, wonder why i had to write a different one.

in other news...we got your christmas letter today hannah!

oh, and in other, other news we have a new personage lodging here nowadays. his name is cowboy dan mccan (aka ethan in his new cowboy uniform he got for christmas ;D ) dan came to cici's with us and got many a raise of an eyebrow. (oh yes. cici's always plays 80's music. and the dude who kept coming by to take our plates kept quizzing us on who sang what. although, it was rather odd...you see...he made me realize how fluent the word 'favorite' has become nowadays. because, every single time a song came on, he would say, "you know who sings this? queen. this is my favorite song." or "oh yes! this is my favorite song. you know who sings it? you don't!? u2 sings it." you get the idea)

well, that's your update for today. i would write more, except that i was going to write it when i replied to the letter that you're supposed to write hannah!!

@Madeline : No all our snow is sadly melting due to rain :(

The good news is my oldest brother (Ryan) made it here from Hawaii yesterday night! It's been a blast talking to him about what he's been doing for the last two and a half years :P

My mom's parents come in from Kentucky tomorrow, so that just adds to the fun.

It's hard to believe Christmas is only a few days away. That just happened to remind me of two things. Time flies! and School starts up again soon!(1/7/08) :)

Sarah is doing good. She's taking a few weeks off from college, but it seems like she'll make a *full recovery. She's in a double leg cast, but is in high spirits :D

*full as possible with her brittle bone disease.

I don't think we have any specific new years eve thingy. I know I have to work :( But its only till close at 8pm instead of at 10pm so I can still find something to do. My oldest brother will still be here, but my grandparents already left. Who knows :P

Happy late birthday, Emma!
(Alexandra, Abbie never called back because our company was here until very late, and then everyone had to call us, and... Mom says you should set up a time to IM.)

We're going rollerskating. Ab's going to a party at a friend's house. =)
