Time goes on

Well with school clipping along (just getting ready for mid terms of quarter number 2), the job going smooth 4 days a week, and the occasional free moment of time I thought I'd update a little.

My dad is about a year away from retiring (go him!)

My mom is still being the excellent cook/mother/teacher/mentor for us 3 kids still at home

My oldest brother is moving back here from Hawaii (not sure if thats bad or good since we always beat each other up (not always in fun either :( ) ,but he's coming)

My second oldest brother is at another college in the area work on his 3rd year (i.e. junior) and is working toward a MIS (Management Information Systems) degree.

Myself is pretty much list above minus the details that I'm going for a MIS/CIS degree at college.

And my lil' sister. Not much to say there except she's plugging along in homeschool and piano lessons.

Now that you got my news for the next year...lol Maybe I'll update it if anything exciting happens

Happy birthday to all whose I missed (I never was good at memorizing dates (not sure if I knew the b-days personally anyhow), especially in History >_<) Have a good weekend!

Luke

Thanks for the update, Luke! Sounds like y'all are doing just fine. :)

Haha, your little sis sounds like me - homeschool and piano, haha.

Guess what? Yesterday it was 8 degrees here, with a windchill of 23 below!!!! Brrrr! I don't like cold.

Yes, thanks for updating! It's good to hear from you every once in a while, Luke!

And it's not quite that cold here, Madeline, but cold enough to be rather nasty. =)

once again...we were playing pretend. this time it was star wars. here is (one) ensuing conversation:

chewbacca: "look! i'm leia!" *sweeps hair out of face onto the sides of head*
leia: "look! i'm chewy!" *sweeps hair onto face*

We actually spent the day being sick. We had other fun activities planned, but then the flu came, and we've just been dropping like flies. Alexandra and Ethan are the only ones who haven't got it yet. We've turned the living room into a sick room, haha. All of us are just laying on the couches all day, watching movies etc.

So happy Valentine's day to y'all. Hope you had fun!

yes, yes happy valentine's day and whatnot.

speaking of madeline...today while we were watching a movie, madeline suddenly remarked, "that guy looks like a preposition." i gave her this look: O_o and she 'explained' herself by pointing out his "curvy head and big, long nose." okay...SOMEBODY'S been watching too much 'Schoolhouse Rock'

and speaking of valentine's day, on the very day, right when mama had just given daddy his valentine's present (hershey's pot of gold. best thing in the universe) and he was happily enjoying it by eating it (that's the best way to enjoy chocolate after all...by eating it) and sharing the eating of some with mama (that is the second best way to enjoy chocolate...by sharing it) i happened to notice a loose thread on his sleeve. now you must understand one thing about me: i cannot abide loose threads. they irritate me to no end. there is some sort of mechanism in me that is quite automatic, and it urges me to lose no time in pulling that erratic thread, telling me that not only is it the obvious thing to do but it is moreover the right thing to do. so pull it i did. as suddenly as the thought to pull it had placed itself in my head, instantly a new thought introduced itself: "what if this thread is connected to something? something like---" SNAP! "his button?!" aye, alas...the bright idea came too late. in all but an instant i pulled the thread, his button came off, and it clattered noisily to the floor. mama and daddy froze in their conversation. they looked slowly from the button on the floor, to the thread in my hand, to the hole in daddy's sleeve. i blushed and placed the offending thread in daddy's hand, as if that could somehow make up for the hole in his sleeve. i picked up the button and shrugged sheepishly. "i suppose i could sew that back on..." i started, but daddy interrupted me: "of course you will! but...where are you going to put it so you'll remember?" this was a serious question, and one that needed careful consideration. so i picked up the button, stared at it for a few seconds, and then promptly attached it to my earing. it looked weird, but it worked! his sleeve is fixed!!

Chicken soup is the order of the day :D

I'm glad I haven't gotten the flue bug. I tend to be a hypochondriac(sp?) ( I think that's someone who thinks everything symptom wise is a killer disease.) I tend to over react to most things :P

Well, what annoys me most about being sick is I have all these general symptoms that can't be relieved by any medicines because there's nothing specific about them! Like symptoms of a fever without a fever, or just feeling generally bleh, or feeling super super tired. Meh.

Alexandra, let's get this straight.

I am not your mother, nor am I your grandmother.

Madeline, also, is not your mother.
