Life is slowly going back on track...

So it seems every time I get on  here I'm saying sorry for not talking in a while. Well this time I had some pretty good reasons. First off I've been sick on and off for the last few weeks. Secondly its half a week (if you can call today and friday that) till finals week and the y end of school for this quarter. On a more personal note I had been dating a girl from a church in our area (bear with me I know it might sound weird hearing a sap story lol), but after about 3 months she felt too overwhelmed with school and family issues (her aunt and cousin both died within a week of each other) that sadly we reverted to being "just friends". Ah I tell you young'ns love is a tricky emotion (and now I sound old lol), but it isn't for the faint of heart as I've found out.

So there you have it! Love and loss, school and work, coupled with a giant God smack to tell me where my focus should have been all along. I'd appreciate it if you'd keep me n your prayers. It would me a lot to me.

I'll definitely be doing so. It's good to hear from you, even if it is a bit infrequent. Any chance you'll be working at camp this summer?

Nice to hear from you! I will definitely be praying for you. Heh, it's hard to see that whenever we get a "God smack" it's for our own good. I've been learning some hard things these past couple years. It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since we moved! But it's working out all right.

I'll keep you in my prayers. :)

It is very doubtful I'll make it back to camp anytime soon. With summer being the prime time to work (5-6 days a week if I can fit it in) and my parents insisting I take a few classes over the summer (psychology, biz law and math <_<) I just don't have the time (or at this rate brain space lol).

Thanks for all the warm wishes and prayers they are much appreciated and I'm sorry for having gone on a short rant about my life :P It's complex and feels like it can knock you over sometimes, but that's when we need to rely on God the most.

Luke Christian Wojick! You can rant about your life anytime you want!!!! It's your blog, and we're your friends. We're hear to listen to you, pray for you, laugh with you, and cry with you. Don't worry about writing anything "not interesting". All of it's interesting to us.

Grr, too bad about camp. I hope your classes and stuff go well. :)

And like Madeline said, no problem about ranting about your life. It's kinda what a blog is for. ;)

Baptist VBS this week! Woohoo! I love VBS, it's so fun! I'm glad they're letting us help with it even though we're not members of the church. I'm teaching the 1st and 2nd graders. It's so fun!

How are you guys doing with all the big thunderstorms? We're doing alrigh so far. Last weekend we had a tornado warning. And we also had a boil order over the weekend, and we lost our water pressure so our shower was out. But it's almost back to normal now.

But thanks.

It's currently become very hot and humid which is giving me a headache. :P

Mom's pretending to throw grapes and Abbie (lovingly, she says) whacked me in the head... speaking of headaches...

It's been pouring rain here as well. We had both tornado warnings and a flash flood watch on Tuesday. I actually drove home Tuesday night from school and in our neighborhood the water was level with the grass (which is surprising since the grass in our neighborhood is raised so that there is a curb so it was a good 4 inches high at least) It was a scary night to drive in :)

Yikes! You take care of yourself, Luke Wojick! We don't want to be hearing about any more car accidents!

We've been getting hit a bit with the storms - we've got some flooding and we've had a couple tornados touch down just north of us, but so far we're fine. Indiana's getting hit the hardest, which is where my parents are right now for their anniversery get-away. Yikes!

Hi! We're back! Bet you didn't know we were gone. Well, me and Alexandra spent the week at the most awesome place ever! It's a camp, part of a national group that has camps all over the country. It's called Worldview Academy, and it is the most awesome camp ever! (Yes, better than OPC camp. Except for the absence of certain persons like you.) We get to sit through 26 hours of intense classes on worldview, leadership, and apologetics, but it never seems long because the talks are so interesting, and the speakers are amazing. We get to be surrounded by 140 teens who all have the same goals and values that we do, and who are more than willing to help us out when we need a hand, even though we only met a few days before. We get to meet amazing guys who show us that chivalry and respect for girls is most definitely NOT dead. (the guys actually cleared all the girls trays for them!) We get to make the most amazing friends in the world, play the most amazing games of ultimate frisbee, sit under the most amazing teaching, and have the most amazing fun times. Not to mention, there was no immodesty or "guy-girl" stuff. Yeah, it was cool.

Go to worldview.org. My parents tell me there's some pictures of me on there. I haven't seen them yet though.

Sounds like you all have been enjoying a pretty decent summer so far ;) I've managed a few outings with some friends, but mostly I've been studying for my biz law class and my Psychology class that I got stuck taking over the summer quarter :(

On the plus side I get more hours at work so I get some more $$$ and that's never a bad thing in my thinking :P

hopefully summer will have a few surprises left yet ;)

Too bad you didn't get to see fireworks! Our town had fireworks on the 3rd, and we went to a friend's house to see them. (Since everything's flat here you can actually watch them from someone's patio, haha.) And tons of people have been setting them off in their backyards. (I love Illinois - we're allowed to do it. ;) )

HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO!!!!

Hi! Nothing to fear! Favorite Sister is here!

I thought it quite time to drop in... *splat* (must work on that. I'm afraid I'm not as good a dropper-in as Anikin) This is going to be a very long comment.

As is most characteristic of me, I shall post some quotes. (I reserve the right to take complete responsibility for neither the quotees nor the quoters nor the quotings nor the quote-readers nor anything else edible in the world except my now deceased fish.)

Okay, that was weird...

(Today we'll start out with my favorite)
"There's a fine line between courage and stupidity. Our heros tend to be on one side of the line or the other. Only the best ones can be found on both."

"People read their horoscopes because they lack the imagination to think up something better."

(radio) "Close your eyes, and open your mind to a world without women..."
(Madeline) "What kind of a world would that be?!"
(My mom and me) "Short!!!"

"Oh! And best of all, the barn's collapsible!"
"Oh?"
"Only in the worst winds you understand."
"Oh!"

"That's my favorite part of the whole rock climbing thing: unintentional skydiving!"

"Madeline sees cars not as vehicles to get you from here to there, but as gigantic radios that move."

Aragorn: "Uruk-hai, 10,000 strong."
Eomer: (to Legolas) "Did you know that the Uruk-hai is actually the shortened form of the Uruk-hello?"
Legolas: "What??"
Eomer: "As opposed to the Uruk-goodbye."
Legolas: ?!?

Gandalf: *wakes up in Lorien* "Bother. I've left my new torch in Moria."

Miraz: "Or do you want him to end up like Caspian here, FATHERLESS!"
Peter: "Don't forget friendless...brainless...helpless...hopeless!!" (to Caspian) "Do you want me to send to back to where you were? Overjoyed in Dwarfland!?"
Miraz: *blank look* "Overjoyed?"
His wife: "Yeah, like this" *squeals at the top of her lungs*
Edmund: *is startled and drops torch*

"Why is Charlie's shirt on fire?"
"Because it's Judah's birthday party!" ;)

And now, to end with another one of our lovely poems...

Well that got him thinkin'
His chances for sinkin'
Were suddenly one in a million
'Cause if people were failin'
To want to go sailin'
He wouldn't be out on the ocean!!

Thank you...thank you very much! *bows*

More quotes for goodness' sake!

(Frodo and Sam in mount doom)
Sam: "Frodo! Grab my right hand!"
Frodo: *grabs hand*
Sam: *lets go giggling* "Oops! That's my left hand!"
Frodo: *screams and falls into lava*

Edmund: "I'm going to knock you silly and witless!"
Peter: *giggles uncontrollably*
Edmund: "Never mind, you already ARE silly and witless."

"Ew! There's sticky-tac on his head!"
"That's to keep his mouth open while he hangs."

Mrs. Macready: "You children are one shenanigan shy of sleeping in the stables--"
Peter: "Look! I found my belly button!!!"

"Turn on the light or you'll go blonde!"

"Andrew! Your big screen TV does not belong on the floor!"
"That's a first. Usually it's just shoes!"

"Did Andrew lose in very last place?"
"Yes, well, he played like a beginner. Which is good because he IS a beginner. And that's what beginners do. They begin."

Mr. Tumnus: "Is Lucy sick of me yet?"
Edmund: "Yes...worried sick."

Have you all heard yet that Jessica Frailey passed away? Please be in prayer for their family, and for her husband. They hadn't been married that long. I know that her testimony made a big impact on all of us that one year at camp when she was there. Now she's rejoicing with her Lord and Savior.

secondly......

there's nothing you can do to give yourself such a good laugh as to go and do something incredibly...

stupid.

such as today...

when my friend sent me a 'happy vacation' e-card...

(right before we went to PA)

it ran along the lines of something like this..."you deserve a vacation. have a great time!"...

she's going on one too...

so i hit 'reply' and wrote a lovely e-mail back...

......

to the employees at ecards@americangreetings.com...

my note said this...

"Thanks!! Same to you on yours!!!
Love ya!

Fine. I see it's up to me to keep up this comment thing. So I'll post some comments for the girls to read when they get back.

Sarah: "Well, they couldn't give me an exact estimate."
Me: "I can see why. Oxymorons are so hard to deal with."

(another poem by our lovely poem-making team)
If I were you
It would be true
That I'd like to be
No one but me!

"It's not a whole stone's throw away! Merely a pebble kick."

"And then God told Elijah to go anoint...uh...oh yeah! Amigo."

"And then Elijah said, "I have a number of faithful followers behind my back between 1 and 7,000."

Abigail: "These are 14 carat gold!"
Me: "But Abigail, those are diamonds."
Abigail: "That's what I said, 14 carat diamond!"

Eomer: "What business does an elf, a man and a dwarf have in the Riddermark?"
Legolas: "It's a joke!!!" *starts muttering to himself* " 'What business...does an elf...a man...and a dwarf...have in the Riddermark..." *brightens* "Oh I got it!!! To get to the other side!!!"
Eomer: O_o
Aragorn: *to Eomer* "You know, that wasn't very funny. You need your sence of humor reevaluated."
Eomer *not amused*

Ethan: "It would take Daddy 2 years to get to the wilderness."
Eliza: "Not if he took a plane!"
Me: "It would if he got locked in the bathroom for 2 years!"
Abigail: "He would starve to death."
Me: "They slide him peanuts under the door."
Abigail: "Wouldn't it just be easier to break the door down?"
Me: "They don't want to break the door down!!! It's the Concord for goodness' sake!!!"
Abigail: "The Concord doesn't run anymore."
Me: "THAT'S BECAUSE DADDY'S BEEN LOCKED IN IT'S BATHROOM FOR 2 YEARS!!!"

hey luke? my mom pushed a button somewhere on the computer and now the toolbars won't show up. neither the one on the top where you type the webpage you want to go to, nor the bottom one where it tells you what windows you have open. they're not there, until you drag your cursor over them. then they appear, but as soon as you move your cursor, they're gone again.
we can opperate the computer without them, but it's a little annoying.

First of all, this is Alexandra. I don't know why my mom's picture is there. >:(

Okay...you've all heard of the Jabberwocky right? Well, this is a sample of MY take on portmanteau-ish poems:

As I made my pleary way
Along mudgy slirky ocwalks,
I stept in ploosh in my new shoes
It soaped into my swell socks.

A queedish car along the street
Quickly by me passes
And up from where the waters meet
My skirt it hadly plashes

My ruined outfit I expect
Reflects the weather's pose.
Next time that I get so wet
I'll surely not wear clothes!

Thank you. Thank you.
