Marybeth's Musings on
Motherhood and More

Hope This Works!

Well, I am attempting to add an entry after nearly a week of not being able to blog.  I truly had no idea how much of an impact not being able to blog or check new blogs would affect me-- but it has.  This was quite sobering to me and caused me to take stock of where my priorities are.  I found that there are many things you can accomplish when you are not thinking about or actually adding to your blog!  Some of these things are:

  • Making a list of goodies to bake for Christmas, with the page number and name of cookbook the recipe is found in
  • Ironing a steadily growing pile of clothing
  • Reading an entire book-- cover to cover-- that was exquisite.  Truly a beautiful book that made me want to write great fiction.  The title?  Love Walked In by Marisa De Los Santos.  Loved it, loved it, loved it.  Shuddered at the idea of turning the final page-- I did not want it to be over!
  • Having a friend over for the better part of a day and just enjoying talking without scheming about the blog entry I could write about our visit
  • Talking to my children instead of staring blankly into a computer screen
  • Working on some writing stuff I needed to do that didn't involve blogging

And that just about covers it.  Although I also did "normal stuff" which for me is laundry, dishes, and meals.  Oh, and driving around doing various things.  Did that, too.

So, that is what has been up this week with me as I have been minorly obsessed with checking to see if HSB is back up and running.  I have several ideas of blog entries I thought of that I do intend to write... but not tomorrow... tomorrow is my day to go Christmas shopping-- totally and utterly ALONE.  Can you tell I am excited?  Woo hoo!

Dear Marybeth,
OH I missed you! I have a great idea for you to blog about. How about giving the readers ideas on Christmas gifts for our kids. You have a WIDE range of ages represented....what did you come up with? I am having a very difficult time with my 3! I feel like so much of what is out there is just JUNK! Did several board games, but aside from that, at a loss!! HELP!
Happy Holidays,
Your faithful reader "harried at the holidays"
