Moms Shouldn't Get Sick

I woke up this morning at 4am, sick as a dog.  At first I told myself it was just something I ate last night-- or I ate too much-- or, something.  Desperation was working its way into my head as I said to myself, "I just can't be sick."  But as the morning progressed, and my four year old also starting throwing up, soon joined by his older brother, I realized that the baby, in all her sweetness, had shared her sickness with those of us who love her.  Awwww.

And so, today, I have been O-U-T of commission.  As in, sitting upright was a huge feat for me.  I did something I truly never do, and called Curt home from work so I could go get in bed.  After sleeping for two hours, I felt much better and can actually look at a computer screen or think of reading a book, or swallow a sip of Coke this evening without paying for it.

I told my daughter today (as she basically did everything that I couldn't) that moms shouldn't get sick.  It just doesn't work.  Moms should always be in full functioning mode so that the rest of the house can run and the dad can be free to go do his job without getting desperate phone calls from home.  When mom is sick, the dinner isn't cooked and the laundry isn't done and life just can't roll along as it should.  And for this mama, that is a bad feeling!  I look around at all the stuff I will be facing tomorrow that got left undone today and grimace at the sight.

The good news is, I will feel better enough to do it by tomorrow, as this seems to be just a 12 hour bug.  (Albeit a very ugly, very vicious 12 hour bug.)  And for that, I am grateful.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I was sick all Monday night and most of Tuesday 'both ways'...felt some better yesterday, but then last night the south end part came back in full force...as in every 5 minutes. I was wiped out today as well. But I'm just praying tomorrow is going to be better! Your family is like ours, we share our joy!
Prayers,
Amy

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear it has hit your home too. In my blog hopping this evening I am amazed at how many posts I found so similiar to yours. This has been a terrible year for this stuff. Yuck!

Time to get out the Lysol and open all the windows!

Blessings,

Angela

It sure is a bummer when days don't go as we planned them to, but we know that God has our days planned out for us and there must have been some good reason that you were unable to do the 'normal' routine today!
